Maintain necessary equipment logs and inform supervisor of deficiencies.\nPerform/prioritize work activity according to business needs and as directed by supervisor.\nMaintains storage areas, entry/exit points and yard areas.\nAssists customers as they enter the yard for material pick-ups or returns.\nKeeps lumberyard, clean, well-organized and safe.\nUnload lumber deliveries from suppliers and compare invoices to items actually received to ensure that shipments are correct.\nLoad lumber and other merchandise into customer/salesman vehicles.\nOccasional delivery of materials with company vehicles.\nAnswer customers' questions about merchandise and advise customers on merchandise selection.\nCommunicates with customers, coworkers, and supervisors in a courteous, effective, and respectful manner.\nAdhere to all company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.\nOther duties as assigned.\nKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS\nEffective written and verbal communication skills.\nStrong interpersonal and relationship skills.\nAbility to achieve performance objectives in a time-sensitive and quality-centered environment.\nDemonstrate initiative and reliability with minimal supervision.\nSafety conscious.\nQUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE\nHigh School Diploma or GED.\nExperience operating a forklift, able to obtain certification.\nValid Driver License, with good driving record.\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\nPhysical Work Requirements - Heavy: exerting up to 75 lbs of force regularly.\nRepetitive motion associated with operating equipment.\nRegular exposure to the elements.\nFrequent bending, standing, lifting, and ongoing physical activity.\nThis description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, efforts, or work conditions associated with this job.
