Other minor duties may be assigned.\nContinually focuses on achieving market base profitability through effective management of all fleet and maintenance activities within the assigned area, including cost control, employee development, and high training and safety standards.\nEnsures safe and reliable vehicles are available to meet operational requirements.\nManages effective utilization of vehicle assets.\nConducts fleet evaluations to ensure maintenance standards are met.\nEnsures maintenance shops are adequately staffed and mechanics are properly trained.\nEnsures vehicle management systems are effectively utilized.\nComplies with and ensures adherence to CARDS standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.\nMeets all financial review dates and corporate directed programs in a timely fashion.\nAssists in budget process as required.\nEnsures the cleanliness and maintenance of the maintenance shops through regular inspections and preventive maintenance programs.\nOversees personnel needs of the department including selecting, coaching, disciplining, and training employees and evaluating employee performance.\nAttends and contributes to periodic driver/safety meetings to maintain favorable working relationships among all employees and promote maximum morale, productivity, and efficiency.\nProvides training and presentations as needed in a positive and professional manner.\nUpdates and submits required reports in a timely manner.\nMonitor equipment repair requests to ensure repairs and maintenance are being prioritized and sequenced properly. Evaluate progress on assigned repairs\n\nSupervisory Responsibilities Mechanics and Operational Support staff\nSkills and Knowledge Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree (accredited), or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) or High School Equivalency and three (3) years of relevant work experience.\nExperience: Three (3) years of relevant work experience as well as experience in a supervisory role (in addition to education requirement)\nCertificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements\nApplicable experience may be substituted for education requirements.\nExpertise, knowledge and understanding of Diesel Vehicles, Equipment and Safety.\nValid CDL A driver’s license required.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nMust possess good organizational skills and work independently.\nPerformance Attendance and punctuality according to the work schedule are a must and are vital to the operations of the rest of the company.\nFull time hours, additional hours may be needed.\nPhysical Requirements Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, tools etc.) most of the workday.\nRequired to exert physical effort in handling objects more than 30 pounds.\nOccasional exposure to physical occupational risks (such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals, etc.)\nOccasional exposure to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements.\nPay & Benefits: Who doesn't like to get paid weekly?
