Join our team today!\nThe Packaging Operator supports the Converting Production by operating paper converting equipment to meet the production goal established for the line in a safe manner. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all company safety policies and ensuring that all products manufactured meet customer specifications. This position status is non-exempt.\nThis position works a Modified DuPont schedule consisting of 12-hour day and night shifts with rotating weekends. Candidates should carefully consider the schedule before applying. This role starts at $25.85 an hour with an opportunity to increase in pay as on-the-job certifications are completed.\nEssential Job Functions:\nSupports Sofidel America’s Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP to promote a safe, sanitary and hygienically sound workplace.\nResponsible for set-up, operation, adjustment, and change-over of the primary and/or secondary packaging equipment.\nPerform with other staff operating the line, as a team, to achieve established production rates and line uptime.\nPerform basic maintenance tasks and communicate additional work required to dedicated maintenance staff.\nDocument quality control, production and/or maintenance issues on respective reporting forms during operation of the line.\nUnderstand product specifications to ensure production of a quality finished product within the tolerances.\nReads and comprehends production schedules, work orders, manuals, and performance specifications, to establish proper operation of the equipment.\nObey the established housekeeping rules and maintain a safe and organized work area clean of obstacles, debris and loose material.\nPerform routine inspection of condition of the equipment and report to the Supervisor or the Maintenance department unusual equipment or operating problems.\nAssist other operators, maintenance, or production personnel in other production duties as needed.\nOther Duties May Include:\nPerform or assist with any operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements. Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies.\nMaintain safe work area and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules keeping work area in a clean and orderly condition. Support quality, housekeeping and sanitation standards as well as assuring customer satisfaction\nParticipate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.\nPerform other related duties as assigned.\nJob Requirements:\nHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six (6) to twelve (12) months experience manufacturing inventory and purchasing and/or training; preferred equivalent combination of education and experience.\nAbility to work across departments and in a team environment.\nAbility to prioritize and re-prioritize tasks as needed with strong time-management skills.\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and quality and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.\nAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.\nAbility to learn and certify in Lift and Crane operation\nAbility to use tools, measuring tape, calculators, and other common metrology instruments related to the operation of the equipment.\nAbility to identify nonconformance and notify Supervisor of issues.\nCommunicate in a manner that supports production. Confers with managers, technicians, production personnel, and other operators regarding testing procedures and results to resolve problems.\nAbility to use computer and peripherals, standard and customized software applications and tools, and usual production equipment.\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to learn and perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
