Relies on metrics that measure incoming and outgoing demands, along with experience and judgment to plan and accomplish department/organizational goalsResponsible to promote safe work practicesMust be able to work with Electric Boat operating systemsResponsible for processing incoming material from vendorResponsible for developing and implementing short and long term inventory and material goals/plansIndependent creativity and latitude is expectedPromote and actively support EBQP Process Improvement System and attain facility departmental goalsMust be able to work with the EBQP Process Improvement Team and define and eliminate waste to reduce the cost of material handlingMust also be able to document the process and provide training to the team membersWill manage rejection and department work ordersThis position is located at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI.QualificationsRequired:High school diploma or equivalentA minimum of 4 years of supply chain experience, including the technical processes of warehousing and buffer storageA minimum of 2 years of leadership experienceMust be able to attain hazmat transportation qualificationsMust be available to work all shifts (1st, 2nd & 3rd)Must understand safe operating procedures for various forklifts as well as understand and be able to work with EB Inventory Tracking systemMust be very well versed in warehousing concepts and business systemsMust have strong interpersonal skills interfacing with hourly, salary, and upper managementMust be able to manage functions that include warehouse and material distribution areasMust be flexible and able to work in all warehouse areasAbility to understand and be able to learn Microsoft Excel, Word, Power-PointMust be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the department of defensePreferred:EQP/MRP ExperienceAssociates degree or higher in Business or Supply Chain Management4 plus years of leadership experienceNavy/MilitaryShipyard ExperienceSkillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsDetail oriented and organizedStrong MRPii and other warehouse business systemsOrganizational skills, interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task in a fast paced environmentStrong commitment toward safetyPhysical QualificationsClimbing, Light Lifting, Pushing, Reaching, StoopingEnvironmental AttributesDry, Inside, Noise, Outside
