With a multi-year backlog and an expanding fleet of tugs, barges, cranes, and specialized dive-support equipment, we require the immediate addition of a Diesel Mechanic to our team at our modern waterfront headquarters located in Buffalo, NY.What You'll Work OnPush-boats, dive vessels & crew boats (Cummins, Caterpillar, Detroit Diesel)Flexifloat sectional barge equipmentCranes (American/Terex, Link-Belt, Pettibone, Grove)Heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, forklifts)Marine hydraulics, winches, pumps, dive compressors, hot-water systemsTrucks, trailers, pickups, and vast support fleet of small equipmentShop fabrication, welding, and custom modificationsKey ResponsibilitiesPerform preventative maintenance and routine repairsDiagnose and troubleshoot diesel, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systemsWeld and fabricate (stick, MIG, TIG) Maintain parts inventory and detailed service recordsUndertakes winter refits and new equipment buildsWhat You Bring5+ years heavy equipment / diesel mechanic experienceDiagnostic and repair skills on diesel engines and hydraulicsWelding and fabrication abilities a plusCurrent crane operator or past crane experience a very major plusYour own professional tools (we supply everything else)Clean driving record and ability to pass background/drug screen (TWIC helpful)Self-motivated, reliable, dependableWhat We OfferTop base salary (based on experience)Regular with overtime as needed/desiredTop-tier medical + Company 401(k) matchFully equipped shop with diagnostic tools, welders, lifts, etc.UniformsPaid holidays, vacation, and personal daysYear-round steady workThis is a career position as a key team member with responsibility, and BIDCO has had zero mechanic layoffs in our 33 years in business.
