Whether a planned project or an emergency response, Mersino meets challenges with expertise, equipment, and service.We move water.Job Summary:The primary responsibility of the Material Handler is to maintain production and distribution of product by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies, and staging finished product. The Material Handler should also serve as a working team member and individual contributor to the overall team's success.Typical Duties and Responsibilities:Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling and placing materials and supplies in stockLocate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production ordersPrepare finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading and securing productMaintain forklifts and other material handling equipment by completing pre-use inspectionsCross train to learn multiple functions in the production environmentLoad and unload equipment and supplies as directed, as well as delivery trucks ensuring that each delivery matches the company purchase orderClean and organize shop and other areas as requiredComply with company and regulatory agency environmental, health and safety standardsInvestigate inventory discrepancies and identify solutions to prevent future occurrencesEnsure that The Mersino Way is a guiding document in all daily activitiesQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent requiredCurrent and valid OSHA forklift operation certificate, or the ability to acquire certificationExperience in inventory or logistics preferredSpecific Expectations:Excellent internal and external customer serviceAbility to work effectively with othersAbility to multi-task in a changing environmentAbility to work a flexible schedule to meet job requirementsAbility to work under pressure to meet deadlinesStrong time management and organizational skillsRequires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkwardDisclaimer: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
