If you're driven, team-oriented, and ready to build a career with real growth potential, APS is the place for you.Job SummaryThe Vactor Operator is responsible for leading and performing sewer and storm drainage maintenance and cleaning operations using high-pressure jetting and vacuum (Vactor) equipment. This position requires strong technical ability, leadership in the field, and a commitment to safety, quality, and efficient job execution. The ideal candidate will coordinate with team members and clients to ensure all work is completed to company standards and project requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesLead field operations and train team members by example through performance and accountabilityMaintain a positive and professional work attitude at all timesRead and interpret sewer and storm drainage site plansOperate tablets to complete daily logs, pre-trip inspections, and fuel reportsExecute high-production work while maintaining quality standardsCoordinate job plans and execution strategies with clients and supervisorsCommunicate effectively and professionally with clients and team membersDirect and coordinate helpers to ensure efficient job performance (including pre-job planning such as storm run assessments)Maintain cleanliness, care, and proper maintenance of all equipment, trucks, tools, and materialsEnsure all required tools and equipment are available and properly stored before and after each jobFollow all safety procedures, which may change based on site conditionsAdhere to all PPE requirements and company safety policiesUse critical thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve field challengesMaintain efficient workflow and production standards throughout the workdayFollow company defensive driving and safety standardsInspect and maintain high-pressure jetting hoses and related equipmentUnderstand pressure limits and operational risks to prevent property damage (e.g., sewer backup, "burping," or residential impacts)Train helpers on daily tasks, equipment operation, and proper maintenance proceduresEnsure proper care of small tools, nozzles, and specialized equipmentWork safely in a variety of outdoor environments and weather conditionsPerform physical labor including lifting, bending, climbing, and working in confined spaces when requiredFollow all safety protocols including use of protective equipment and hazard awarenessRequirements – Vactor Operator High School Diploma or GED equivalentValid Florida Class A or B Commercial Driver's License and CDL LicenseCurrent DOT Medical CardClean Driving History2-3 Years' experience operating Vac TruckPipeline/Manhole Rehabilitation experience preferred (not required).Able to work regular hours (6:00AM – 5:00 PM). Occasional night and weekend work. Out of town work may applyHandling of specialized and fragile equipmentData entry (Daily logs, tracking information from hob sites, issues encountered, etc.)Safety RequirementsMust comply with all company safety procedures and OSHA regulationsRequired to wear all appropriate PPE at all timesMust maintain a strong safety-first mindset in all work activitiesGeneral InformationAll employees must undergo a pre-employment background check and substance screening process prior to being considered for employment.Must be comfortable working outside year-round in all types of weather.Exposure to varying levels of physical activities.
