The role provides onsite infrastructure support, including hardware installation, troubleshooting, break/fix services, cabling, equipment deployment, inventory management, and other data center support activities.\n\nSalary/Hourly Rate:\n$30/hr\n\nPosition Overview:\nOur client is seeking an L1 Data Center Technician (DC Tech) to provide hands-on onsite technical support within a data center environment in Denver, Colorado. The L1 Data Center Technician will be responsible for hardware installation and troubleshooting, rack-and-stack activities, cabling, break/fix support, equipment deployments, inventory management, and ticket-based incident resolution. This is a fully onsite position requiring five days per week at the Amarillo data center. The ideal candidate will have 3 - 5 years of hands-on technical support or data center experience, strong hardware troubleshooting skills, basic networking knowledge, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, procedure-driven environment.\n\nResponsibilities of the L1 Data Center Technician:\nPerform hands-on data center break/fix, hardware installation, deployment, and troubleshooting for servers, network equipment, storage devices, and related infrastructure.\nExecute rack-and-stack activities, including equipment installation, removal, labeling, and physical connectivity.\nInstall, trace, label, and troubleshoot copper and fiber cabling and network connections.\nMonitor and manage assigned tickets through ITSM/ticketing systems, ensuring incidents and service requests are completed within established procedures and timelines.\nDiagnose and replace failed hardware components, including drives, power supplies, memory, network cards, and other server components.\nPerform equipment inventory, asset tracking, documentation, and decommissioning activities.\nApply basic networking and connectivity troubleshooting, including Ethernet, Wi-Fi, ports, and physical network connections.\nFollow established SOPs, runbooks, safety procedures, and escalation processes, documenting work performed and escalating issues when required.\nRequired Experience/Skills for the L1 Data Center Technician:\n4 - 7 years of hands-on technical support, field services, hardware support, or data center experience.\nExperience troubleshooting servers, laptops/desktops, networking equipment, or other IT hardware.\nStrong hardware troubleshooting and break/fix skills.\nExperience with rack-and-stack, equipment installation, cabling, or physical infrastructure support preferred.\nBasic understanding of networking, TCP/IP, Ethernet, ports, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.\nAbility to use ITSM/ticketing systems and accurately document technical work.\nStrong Windows troubleshooting skills.\nAbility to follow technical documentation, SOPs, and detailed work instructions.\nStrong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.\nAbility to work onsite at a data center five days per week.\nAbility to work in a physically active environment involving standing, walking, bending, and handling IT equipment.\nPreferred Experience/Skills for the L1 Data Center Technician:\nPrevious experience working in a data center, colocation facility, NOC, or enterprise infrastructure environment.\nExperience with server hardware, storage systems, switches, routers, and data center infrastructure.\nExperience with fiber and copper cabling.\nFamiliarity with Smart Hands/Remote Hands support.\nExperience with SCCM, IT Shop, Nexthink, or similar IT infrastructure and support tools.\nExperience with Cisco networking or Cisco video conferencing equipment.\nKnowledge of data center standards, rack layouts, PDUs, A/B power, and structured cabling.\nExperience with asset management and hardware inventory systems.\nEducation Requirements:\nAssociate degree, technical certification, or IT-related education is preferred.\nBenefits:\nAtrium Care Package available, upon eligibility (including healthcare plans, discount programs, and paid time off).\nJob Wrapping ID: #LI-AJ3\n\nAbout Atrium: What you do matters.
