The Senior Systems Test Engineer is in charge of testing the embedded system to ensure it meets both system requirements and customer expectations. You will own the testing of new and legacy HVAC control systems in labs, test cells and field trial sites. Furthermore, you’ll develop tests and testing methodologies for the embedded controls of HVAC systems. You’ll make significant contributions to the team by applying knowledge of the discipline; while working independently with minimal guidance on projects.\nRole Responsibilities\nWork closely with embedded systems engineers to define integration tests for HVAC systems.\nExecute the role of a systems integration test engineer in the product development processes.\nWork closely with hardware, firmware, software, and manufacturing engineering teams.\nWork closely with field trial coordinators in identifying and managing field trial sites.\nAssist in decisions on tradeoffs in product testing between hardware and firmware/software.\nCapture requirements, write test specifications, define test plans for system verification and validation.\nPerform testing in the systems labs and test cells.\nProvide input to project planning process (e.g., estimates for project plan tasks, resources, completion time, capital requirements, risks, expenses, etc.).\nParticipate in software and systems DFMEAs.\nDocument systems and functional requirements.\nHelp define the systems and software testing approach for new products.\nDevelop systems-level test cases/plans.\nParticipate in risk identification reviews.\nDemonstrates the ability to work within a project team.\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s Degree.\n5+ years of systems engineering experience with embedded products.\n5+ years of integrating and testing complex embedded control systems.\n3+ years of experience using root cause analysis strategies.\nPreferred Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or Technical fields.\nExperience providing systems engineering support in a cross-competency environment.\nRoot Cause strategies include 5 Why’s or 7-Step problem solving.\nExperience with serial communication protocols such as RS-485 and CAN.\nExperience troubleshooting embedded controls systems.\nExperience in participating in DFMEAs.\nExperience in the use of JIRA/Confluence.\nFamiliarity with C, C++ and Linux development.\nPay Range\nThe annual salary for this position is between $79,000.00 - $158,000.00 annually.
