You'll bring your experience and skills to our exciting project within a competent, cross-functional, passionate, and self-organized team.\r\nIn this role, you will:\r\nTake ownership, improve, scale, and iterate on existing data processing pipelines.\r\nDesign and implement new data processing pipelines.\r\nCollect and monitor performance metrics.\r\nPlay a key role in discussing and implementing security best practices.\r\nWhat We Believe are Important Traits for This Role\r\nGood knowledge of at least one programming language (C++, Python, Scala, or Java).\r\nExperience with AWS services (S3, EC2, IAM, EMR, Glue, Athena, Kinesis) or any other cloud platform.\r\nComfortable with SQL and have a thorough understanding of SQL engine basics.\r\nProficient understanding of distributed computing principles.\r\nExperience with at least one workflow management tool, such as Airflow, Oozie, or Luigi.\r\nStrong analytical thinking and the ability to justify technical decisions.\r\nCreative, resourceful, and innovative problem solver.\r\nExcellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.\r\nNice to Have Traits for This Role\r\nPrior experience in the mapping, navigation, or automotive industry.\r\nHands-on experience with data processing platforms/frameworks (Spark or other).\r\nWhat We Value\r\nIn addition to our core values, which are not unique to this position and are necessary for Mapbox leaders:\r\nWe value high-performing creative individuals who dig into problems and opportunities.\r\nWe believe in individuals being their whole selves at work.
