{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"e7de0f4db42e281674464c42","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/e7de0f4db42e281674464c42","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/e7de0f4db42e281674464c42","title":"Braider Operator","description":"*Title: Braider Operator*\n*Location: Mansfield, TX*\n*Temp to hire -*\n*Pay: $20.25/hr + $2 shift differential*\n*3rd shift (11:30 PM - 7:30 AM) - (Mon-Fri) - MANDATORY OT*\n\n*Summary:*\n\n* Operate either the NEB, OMA and/or TMW 24/36 braiders and monitor for proper product quality\n\n*Functions:*\n\n* Pull tooling and materials according to manufacturing specifications for applicable machine(s), such as springs, braid rings, tube guides, wound bobbin, core tube, etc.\n* Inspect tooling before using and track material used in WW3 system and Braider Logs\n* Set up applicable machine(s) according to manufacturing specifications (braid ring height, install tube guide, change deck/puller gear, unload/load carriers, unload/load bobbins, etc.) and mark defects/new preforms with the correct tape color\n* Measure and record OD and pitch on Hose Process Chart (SPC)\n* Run braided hose through wash tank and stage in hose coiling area for inspection\n* Maintain work area in clean and orderly fashion, follow 5s practices\n* Know and practice all safety regulations and quality guidelines\n* Report production issues to Direct Lead\n* Perform work of an equal or lower classification\n\n*DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:*\n\n* Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment. Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately.\n* Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner.\n* Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.\n* Other duties may be assigned at a later time.\n\n*Requirements:*\n*Education required:*\n*High School diploma or GED*\n\n*Experience:*\n\n* Production work preferred but not required\n\n*Preferred Skills/Qualifications:*\n\n* Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills\n* Basic knowledge and use of hand tools\n* Sound decision making skills\n* Good math, reading, writing skills\n* Demonstrated mechanical aptitude\n* Strong trouble shooting skills\n* Be able to exercise continuous mental, visual, and audio attention\n* Ability to work well in a team environment\n\n*Skills/Competencies:*\n\n* Basic computer skills\n* Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action.\n* Vision: Near acuity and accommodation for reading information to perform job tasks.\n* Requires constant alertness to surroundings and product quality with attention to detail.\n* Must be able to read work orders and interpret manufacturing specifications.\n* Ability to use and interpret measuring instruments (i.e. calipers, micrometers, pi tape, etc.)\n* Must be able to demonstrate ability to operate department equipment (i.e. NEB braiders, TMW, OMA braiders, etc.)\n\n*Working Conditions:*\n*The employee may be subject to:*\n\n* High noise levels from operating machines and equipment.\n* Physical hazards from operating machines\n* Work in areas where safety equipment will be required (steel toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection)\n* Standing is required for extended periods of time.
