In this role, you will partner closely with project managers, contractors, facilities teams, and site leadership to ensure construction activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and SEL safety expectations.\n\nThe EHS Professional will support all phases of construction projects by identifying and mitigating risks, evaluating contractor safety performance, conducting field assessments, and promoting a culture where safety is integrated into every stage of project execution.\n\nThis position plays a key role in protecting employees, contractors, visitors, and company assets while supporting SEL's commitment to operational excellence and responsible growth.\n\nAs an EHS Professional – Construction Support, a typical day might include the following:\n\nSupporting construction and capital project teams by providing EHS guidance during project planning, design reviews, contractor selection, and field execution.\nConducting routine project site inspections and audits to verify compliance with SEL safety requirements, OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and applicable construction standards.\nReviewing contractor safety programs, site-specific safety plans, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and work activities to identify and mitigate risks before work begins.\nCollaborating with project managers, facilities personnel, contractors, and other stakeholders to address safety concerns and develop practical solutions to construction-related hazards.\nMonitoring high-risk activities such as excavation, confined space entry, fall protection, lockout/tagout, energized work, crane operations, and hot work.\nLeading or assisting with incident investigations involving construction activities, facilitating root cause analysis, and supporting corrective and preventive action implementation.\nProviding field coaching and mentoring to contractors and project teams to reinforce safe work practices and SEL safety expectations.\nTracking project EHS metrics, contractor performance, inspection findings, and corrective actions to evaluate program effectiveness and continuous improvement opportunities.\nSupporting environmental compliance efforts related to construction projects, including waste management, stormwater controls, hazardous materials, and permitting requirements.\nAssisting with the development and delivery of construction safety training, contractor orientation programs, and safety communications.\n\nThis job might be for you if you have:\n\nA bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field, or equivalent experience.\nProfessional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST), or similar credentials.\nExperience supporting construction, facility expansion, renovation, or capital improvement projects in manufacturing, industrial, commercial, or institutional environments.\nKnowledge of OSHA construction standards (29 CFR 1926) and other applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations.\nExperience evaluating contractor safety programs and managing contractor EHS performance.\nStrong hazard recognition and risk assessment skills, particularly in construction environments.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications and the ability to analyze and communicate safety performance data.\nExcellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\nThe ability to influence and collaborate with project teams, contractors, and leaders at all levels of the organization.\nThe ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects, and adapt to changing project schedules and business needs.\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nExperience supporting large-scale construction projects in active manufacturing or operational environments.\nFamiliarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.\nExperience with contractor management systems, permit-to-work programs, and project safety planning.\nKnowledge of environmental permitting, stormwater management, and construction-related environmental compliance requirements.\nExperience facilitating safety culture initiatives and continuous improvement programs.\n\nPhysical Requirements:\n\nAble to walk and stand for extended periods, climb stairs unassisted and lift and carry up to 40 lbs\n\nLocation:\n\nMoscow, ID – This position is located in Moscow, ID, home to our state of the art Printed Circuit Board factory.
