Find your future with us.\nBoeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), Space and Launch Organization seeks an Engineering Support professional to serve as Mission Operation Controller to support proprietary programs from Herndon, Virginia.\nThe Space and Launch Organization works with customers creating next-generation technologies in space. We focus on rapid prototyping to demonstrate a host of mission-focused technologies for a variety of customers. Our team addresses all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments. Duties of this position include working within and supporting proprietary areas.\nPosition Responsibilities:\nTroubleshoot and resolve problems following defined procedures.\nEscalate issues.\nRecognize and document system discrepancies.\nIdentify and propose opportunities for system improvement.\nCoordinate, update, and create necessary procedures and documentation.\nCollaborate with other teams and individuals.\nSuccessful completion of on-the-job training that involves training modules, self-led reading and observation, shadowing, and hands-on learning.\nParticipate in the development of engineering processes, methods, and tools for use as a mission controller.\nThis position is expected to be fully onsite in Herndon, VA.\nThis position requires an active TS/SCI U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)\nBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):\nWillingness to successfully complete a Proprietary Certification program which requires a combination of self-study and on-the-job (OJT) training.\nWillingness and ability to work variable shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.\nPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):\nExperience building customer relationships.\nExperience with space and satellite systems.\nExperience working in UNIX, LINUX, or Windows environments.\nDemonstrated strength in attention to detail and troubleshooting complex systems.\nExperience adjusting to ever changing priorities.\nTypical Education/Experience:\nEducation/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master, 6 year's related work experience, etc.).\nRelocation:\nRelocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
