Learn more at www.dminc.com\nAbout the Opportunity:\nDMI, LLC is seeking an Oracle Cloud Solution Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions aligned with operational, security, and compliance requirements.\n\nThe Oracle Cloud Solution Architect will provide end-to-end architectural leadership and technical oversight for:\nMigration of Oracle databases and applications to OCI (EXACS/EXACC)\nDesign and implementation of high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) architectures\nIntegration of Oracle Cloud services with on-prem and hybrid environments\nPerformance optimization, cost management, and operational efficiency\nAlignment with cybersecurity, compliance, and data governance policies.\n\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nLead architecture design for Oracle Cloud (OCI) solutions, including compute, storage, networking, and database services.\nDesign and implement high availability and full-service disaster recovery (DR) solutions across OCI regions.\nArchitect migrations from on-premises Exadata to OCI (EXACS/EXACC), ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.\nCollaborate with DBA, application, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure seamless integration.\nProvide guidance on Oracle Autonomous Database, AIOps, and AI-enabled capabilities within OCI.\nEstablish best practices for performance tuning, capacity planning, and cost optimization.\nEnsure compliance with cybersecurity standards, FTA guidelines, and regulatory requirements.\nLead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex production issues.\nDevelop architecture documentation, runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge transfer artifacts.\nMentor internal teams and support skill development in OCI technologies.\nEngage with Oracle and third-party vendors to align solutions.\nApply concepts of application architecture and service orientation to assist customer teams responsible for developing HA application requirements in specific functional areas.\nCoordinate work to prevent overlap and ensure alignment with Enterprise Architecture Framework, IT strategy, SDLC, strategic drivers, and standards.\nPrepare as-is and to-be application architecture artifacts, including system connect diagrams, application reference models, software requirements documents, interface descriptions, data dictionaries, performance monitoring and logging specifications, high availability and scaling designs, DR concepts and designs, and application staging plans.\nWork with data and infrastructure architects and software program managers to ensure integrity, high availability, and scalability of application systems and plans within the context of the overall Enterprise Architecture.\nGuide the work of business systems/business case analysts and documentation specialists.\nQualifications:\nEducation and Years of Experience:\nBachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Communications, Finance, or in a related discipline, or equivalent experience;\nLevel 3 (Senior-level): eight (8) or more years of relevant experience.\n\nAdditional Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).\n10+ years of experience in Oracle database technologies and enterprise architecture.\n5+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).\nStrong experience with Oracle Exadata (on-prem and cloud – EXACS/EXACC).\nProven experience in large-scale cloud migration projects (lift-and-shift and modernization).\nDeep understanding of HA/DR architectures, Data Guard, RMAN, and backup/recovery strategies.\nExperience with networking concepts (VCN, subnets, load balancers, VPN, FastConnect).\nStrong knowledge of security, identity management, and compliance frameworks.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills.\nExceptional solution architecture experience and familiarity with architecture patterns and design, with emphasis on performance tuning, logging, and monitoring, microservices, and cloud; high availability/scaling solutioning; and software development skills.\nStrong analytical, verbal communication, and written communication skills.\nExperience using MS Visio or other data or application visualization software to document application architecture.\nExperience using MS Excel to perform basic software requirements documentation.\nFamiliarity with MS Word and MS PowerPoint.\nExperience coordinating software requirements and working with development teams.\nProven ability to plan and deploy custom COTS and middleware application programs and process improvements.\nExperience managing teams of programmers for the deployment of large, complex web and mobile applications.\nExperience performing the application architecture function, from conception to deployment, of a large government multi-agency solution.\nRequired Skills & Certifications:\nOracle Cloud certifications (e.g., OCI Architect Professional).\nExperience with PeopleSoft (FSCM, HCM, EPM) and SOA/OIC integrations.\nExposure to AI/ML and AIOps tools within the OCI ecosystem.\nExperience in public sector or transit systems (highly desirable).\nKnowledge of multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architectures (AWS/Azure + OCI).\nFamiliarity with DevOps, automation (Terraform, Ansible), and CI/CD pipelines.\nExperience in managing mission-critical, high-availability environments with near 100% uptime expectations.\nPMP, TOGAF, or similar architecture/project management certifications.\nExperience in the transit industry.\nExperience integrating legacy applications or data sources across a J2EE, MS.NET, and/or legacy mainframe or mini environment.\nAt least three (3) years of experience implementing architectural patterns and designs for web and mobile applications.\nHands-on experience designing and implementing HA and scaling solutions in a complex, multi-application architecture, including cloud.\nExpertise in integrating complex HA designs within complex network environments supporting multiple web and mobile applications.\nExperience planning and deploying a business process management solution and/or a workflow engine within a large enterprise software deployment.\n\nCitizenship Status Required: Must be eligible to work in the United States\n\nPhysical Requirements: Not required for this position.\n\nLocation: Washington Metropolitan Area (DMV), but will be required to work on-site at one of the following locations:\n\nHyattsville, MD 20785\nWashington, DC 20024\nAlexandria, VA 22314\nMinimum Salary Rate: $157,616 Median Salary Rate: $197,020 Working at DMI:\nDMI is a diverse, prosperous, and rewarding place to work.
