OPD's industry experience, flexibility, and personal attention have made us a preferred partner to our customers and our tight knit, highly productive, team atmosphere makes OPD a great place to work.\nWhat You Will Do\nSome core responsibilities for a Rodbuster include:\n\nSpace and fasten together rods in forms according to blueprints using wire and pliers.\nPosition and secure steel bars, rods, cables or mesh in concrete forms using fasteners and hand tools.\nPlace blocks under rebar to hold the bards off the deck.\nBend steel rods with hand tools and rodbending machines.\nCut and fit wire mesh or fabric using hooked rods and position fabric or mesh in concrete to reinforce concrete.\nCut rods to required lengths using metal shears, hacksaws or bar cutters.\nDetermines number, size, shape and locations of reinforcing rods from blueprints, sketches or oral instructions.\nPositions and secures steel bars in concrete forms to reinforce concrete.\nSelects and places rod in forms; spacing and fastening them together using wire and pliers.\nCuts bars to required lengths, using hacksaw, bar cutters or acetylene torch.\nBend steel rods with hand tools or rod bending machine.\nReinforces concrete with wire mesh.\nMay reinforce concrete with wire mesh. May weld reinforcing bar together, using arc-welding equipment.\nInsures that all reinforcing material is in its proper position, so it receives its intended structural load.\nLoads, transports, unloads material, tools, equipment and supplies.\nMay assist in lifting, positioning and securing of material and work pieces during installation.\nMay perform minor maintenance or cleaning activities of tools and equipment.\nWe expect all field employees to:\n\nActively participate in a strong safety culture\nRecognize safety hazards and risks\nParticipate in onsite safety meetings\nFollow OPD and client safety policies and procedures\nBe aware of changing conditions on an active jobsite\nBe on time to the jobsite each day ready for work\nDisplay a positive attitude and be able to work in a team environment\nSome physical demands of being a Rodbuster include:\n\nCapable of working in outdoor weather and environmental conditions including extreme heat and humidity, extreme cold, and high elevations.\nLifting and carrying awkward objects up to 60 lbs\nStanding for extended periods of time up to 12 hours per day.\nMoving the entire body. Considerable use of arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending on a regular basis.\nMust have good hand-eye coordination\nUse hands to handle, control, and feel objects and/or tools.\nWho You Are (Basic Qualifications)\n\nAt least 1.5 years of experience as a rodbuster\nOther Job Expectations\n\nTravel is a must with extended periods away from home in remote areas at times.\nMust be willing and able to work outside in extreme heat, humidity, and cold conditions.\nMust be willing and able to attend mandatory safety meetings.\nMust be willing and able and willing to work in a team environment.\nMust be willing and able to work shifts up to 12 hours per day and 7 days per week.\nMust be able to meet basic physical demands with or without accommodations.\nWhat Will Put You Ahead\n\n3+ years of experience as a rodbuster\nPrevious experience in oil and gas construction.\nAt Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
