The Advanced Wireless & SATCOM Department supports sponsors across the defense and intelligence communities by providing systems engineering, integration, and test & evaluation expertise in resilient communications and SATCOM systems.We are seeking experienced SATCOM Test & Evaluation engineers to work with Space Systems Command System Delta 88 (SSC SYD88) to support Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) and resilient SATCOM initiatives. Candidates will collaborate across engineering disciplines and sponsor organizations to evaluate emerging satellite communications capabilities and help solve some of the nation’s most complex integration and operational challenges.Roles & Responsibilities:Lead and perform systems engineering and test & evaluation activities for SATCOM and NC3-related systems and subsystemsSupport system integration, verification, validation, and operational assessment activities across the system lifecycleAnalyze and assess emerging satellite communications technologies including NGSO systems, mesh networking, edge computing, and open architecturesCollaborate across software, hardware, network, mechanical, and reliability engineering disciplines to solve complex technical problemsIdentify integration risks, interoperability gaps, and communications challenges across system elementsDevelop technical recommendations and concise leadership-level summaries of complex engineering issuesSupport sponsor engagements through technical analysis, experimentation, and cross-organizational collaborationContribute to strategic technical planning and mission-focused innovation effortsBasic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of related experience; or Master’s degree with 6 years of related experience; or PhD with 3 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experienceDemonstrated technical experience with one or more elements of Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) systems and subsystems, including system integrationBroad systems engineering experience spanning concept development, requirements definition, system integration, verification, and validation activitiesDemonstrated expertise in system test and evaluation methodologies and practicesBasic understanding of satellite communication system segments and SATCOM architecturesExperience collaborating across multiple engineering disciplines to deliver integrated technical solutions under cost and schedule constraintsStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to leadership audiencesDemonstrated ability to lead collaboration across organizational boundaries and leverage existing technical work to support sponsor needsMust have active TS/SCI Per the U.S. Government’s eligibility requirements, you must be a U.S Citizen to be considered for a security clearance.This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-sitePreferred Qualifications: Expertise in one or more advanced communications technologies including NGSO satellite communications, ground station as a service, mesh networking, edge computing platforms, network protocols, encryption technologies, and open architectures/standardsExperience supporting DoD space, SATCOM, NC3, or resilient communications mission areasExpertise in the Test and Evaluation of Software Acquisition PathwaysExperience in SATCOM Ground Segments across one or more domains of Command and Control, Cyber Resiliency, Mission Management, and Key ManagementFamiliarity with operational test environments and field experimentation activitiesExperience identifying integration and interoperability challenges across complex systems-of-systems architecturesStrong technical leadership and mentoring experienceExperience supporting geographically distributed engineering teams and sponsor organizationsActive TS/SCI clearanceThis requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s):Top Secret/SCIThis requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s):Top Secret/SCISalary compensation range and midpoint:$156,400 - $195,500 - $234,600 AnnualWork Location Type:HybridIt is unlawful in Massachusetts to require or administer a lie detector test as a condition of employment or continued employment.
