Backend Engineer, Ingestion / SMTP

I’m working with a fast-growing product company building an AI-powered email routing and enrichment platform for enterprise logistics operations. This is not your typical backend role. The team is building a high-scale inbound email processing platform that sits directly in the Microsoft Exchange Online mail flow, transforming unstructured operational emails into structured, automatable workflows — shipment updates, booking requests, exceptions, all the messy real-world stuff companies still run on via email.A few things that make this role stand out:Heavy focus on SMTP and mail flowHigh-scale distributed systems problemsAWS infrastructure (Global Accelerator, NLB, ECS/ Fargate, Route 53)Real ownership from day oneCustomer-facing engineering work with enterprise IT teamsBuilding systems that need to be reliable under huge volume spikesThey’re looking for someone who’s comfortable getting into the weeds with:SMTP, MIME, TLS, retries, queues, headersExchange Online / M365 connectors & transport rulesAWS networkingContainerized workloadsProduction systems at scaleBonus points if you’ve worked on mail-flow products, email security/gateways, archiving, journaling, etc. Also worth mentioning — this is not a “sit quietly and code tickets” kind of role. The engineers talk directly with customers, help shape the product, and get involved wherever needed. If this sounds like your kind of problem space, Please apply! We would love to talk to you and discuss further!
