We are committed to providing an opportunity for all inmates to become productive citizens when they leave.The Corrections Vocational Instructor plays a vital role in the mission through providing assessment and targeted vocational instructional services to offenders.Key responsibilities may include:Provide classroom and performance based instructional servicesAdhere to supporting curriculumSet expected learning outcomesPrepare lesson plansRecord student attendance and track in the Kentucky Offender Management SystemEnter and maintain student records, scores and completion datesSubmit Program Completion certificatesSupervise teachers' aides and tool room clerksMaintain safe and secure learning environmentMaintain classroom equipment and suppliesExperience in the field of horticulture preferred.If you are seeking to further your career in a rewarding environment, where you can make a difference please apply today!Minimum RequirementsEDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with an associate's degree.EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three (3) years of trade-related experience.Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for up to two (2) years of the trade-related experience.Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: NONESPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONEWorking ConditionsWork is typically performed in a classroom / shop setting within a correctional institution.Probationary PeriodThis job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.If you have questions about this advertisement, please contact Robbie Landrum at Robbie.Landrum@ky.gov.
