Our technology helps customers accurately track ad spend, understand the full customer journey, and drive profitable growth. Machine learning has been at the heart of Northbeam since day one: our full suite of measurement, spanning multi-touch attribution, MMM+, and incrementality, is built on it, along with laser-accurate first-party data. Now we're taking that foundation further, using AI to help brands operationalize their data and turn Northbeam insights into automated decisions.\n\nWe're experiencing rapid growth, have strong product-market fit, and are looking for the right people to help us scale. This is a rare chance to make a meaningful impact at a fast-moving, high-growth company. At Northbeam, you'll join a team of driven, collaborative, and talented individuals who value personal growth and excellence. We'd love for you to be part of our journey.\n\nWe're a remote-friendly company with physical offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles.\n\nAbout the Role\n\nWe're looking for a senior-level software engineer who leans backend and can take product problems from first principles through implementation. You'll spend roughly 70% of your time on backend and distributed systems work and 20–30% on frontend work, giving you the ability to own features across the stack when needed.\n\nYou'll help take new products and capabilities from early traction to meaningful scale — designing reliable backend systems while contributing the frontend components required to deliver complete product experiences. This work could include helping expand our new incrementality offering into a scalable experimentation platform, building near real-time data infrastructure or building AI into our marketing user's workflows. You'll have an opportunity to collaborate with a cross-functional team of data scientists, product managers, and designers along the way.\n\nYour Impact\nScale our new incrementality product into a reliable, repeatable experimentation platform.\nDevelop near-real-time ingestion and processing capabilities to move beyond batch workflows.\nBuild new AI-powered workflows that help marketers evaluate performance and act on insights.\nImprove connection-state systems and help extend the partner ecosystem across data ingestion and exports.\nWork on other product areas such as role-based access control (RBAC).\nContribute to frontend work when needed to deliver complete experiences.\nWhat You Bring\n5+ years of experience designing and building distributed backend systems, microservices, APIs and/or data processing systems written in Python.\nMultiple years of professional experience building system architecture.\nExperience working closely with product managers, designers, and data scientists while independently driving implementation and delivery.\nPrevious startup experience or working in an environment where engineers need breadth, sound judgment, and strong problem-solving skills.\nDemonstrated experience turning ambiguous product needs into sound technical architecture and production-ready solutions.\nThe ability to navigate complex datasets and interconnected tables to investigate issues, trace dependencies, and identify the right path forward in ambiguous technical situations.\nWorking frontend experience with technologies such as React and TypeScript; deep frontend specialization is not required.\nStrong coding fundamentals and the ability to solve technical problems independently, with AI used as an accelerator rather than a substitute for core capabilities.\nA generalist mindset and willingness to work across backend, frontend, pipelines, and infrastructure when the product requires it.\nYou may be a strong fit if\nMost of your experience is in data-intensive backend engineering, but you have also shipped frontend work.\n\nActual compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and location.\n\nIn addition to your base salary, we offer an equity package, comprehensive healthcare benefits (medical, dental, and vision), and a 401(k) plan. Our team enjoys a flexible PTO policy, 12 company-paid holidays, and 12 weeks of paid parental leave. We also provide a $500 work-from-home stipend to support your remote setup.\n\nInterview Process\nThe interview process varies by role but typically begins with a 30-minute interview with a Northbeam recruiter, followed by a video interview with the hiring manager. Next, candidates complete a role-specific video interview followed by video or onsite interviews with several team members. The final step is a video interview with our CEO/Co-founder. The entire interview process is usually 5-7 interviews total and requires around 5-8 hours of your time.\n\nWe accept applications on an ongoing basis.","company":"Northbeam","rawCompany":"northbeam","city":"Austin","state":"TX","isRemote":false,"isActive":false,"createdAt":"2026-08-27T12:47:28.542Z","occupations":[{"code":"15-1252.00","title":"Software Developers","slug":"software-developers"},{"code":"15-1299.08","title":"Computer Systems Engineers/Architects","slug":"computer-systems-engineers-architects"},{"code":"15-2051.00","title":"Data Scientists","slug":"data-scientists"}],"industries":[{"code":"541511","title":"Custom Computer Programming Services","slug":"custom-computer-programming-services"},{"code":"513210","title":"Software Publishers","slug":"software-publishers"},{"code":"541512","title":"Computer Systems Design Services","slug":"computer-systems-design-services"}],"jobPosting":{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"JobPosting","title":"Senior Software Engineer, Python","description":"About Northbeam\n\nNorthbeam is building the world's most advanced marketing intelligence platform, providing top eCommerce brands a unified view of their business data through powerful attribution modeling and customizable dashboards.
