Construction Manager

The construction manager will be for responsible administering the construction contract by managing, observing, and reporting on ongoing construction on a variety of transportation, water and/or facilities infrastructure projects to verify compliance with approved plans and specifications. Provide support, day to day guidance, and limited supervision of other team members.Major Accountabilities:Supervise the observation and inspection of ongoing construction work including material sampling and testing as well as measuring qualitiesReview contractor's work for compliance with contract documents, clarify contract documents for the contractor, and manage contractor requests for paymentOversee the development and management of Change/Field orders, Updates to construction schedule, Submittals, Request for Information (RFI), Claims, Pay requests, Construction meetings, and construction closeout processCommunicate with contractor about non-conforming workPrepare for and facilitate construction meetings including minutesCorrespond with client, contractors, and other employeesRead plan and specifications to be able to ensure construction is in accordance with plans and specificationsCollaborate with design teams to facilitate responses to RFIs and submittals and/or construction issuesCommunicate with owner to understand owner's needs and clarify owner's objectives and relay information to Freese and Nichols and contractorSupport the design phase process as assignedDirectly manage staff and the execution of their daily work including hiring/firing, performance reviews, and developmentConduct pre-bid and pre-construction conferencesResponsible for tasks related to sales and marketing including leading business development effortsOther duties as assignedQualificationsRequired Qualifications:Education:* Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent experienceExperience:10+ years relevant experience in the construction field serving as a construction manager or superintendentFully proficient and ability to mentor others using project management information system (Example e-Builder, Buzzsaw, FNI Manager, Site Manager, etc.)Good written and verbal communication skillsUnderstanding of Alternate Project Delivery MethodsWorking knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.)Preferred Certification/License:P.E.CCMCCCAAbout Freese and NicholsAt the heart of our culture is our LEADS values (Learn continuously, Engage as family, Act with integrity, Deliver quality, and Serve always).
