Human Resources Generalist
Exciting opportunity for a HR Generalist to join Cramer Fish Sciences in Portland, OR! The HR Generalist supports employees and leaders across all CFS locations by helping deliver accessible, compliant, and people-centered HR services. This role contributes to daily HR operations including recruitment coordination, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance recordkeeping and employee communications. In partnership with the HR Manager and Business Support Team, the HR Generalist helps maintain consistent and supportive employee experience across our organization.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesServe as a first point of contact for employee and manager HR inquiries, resolving routine matters, providing guidance on standard policies and procedures, and escalating complex or sensitive issues as neededSupport recruitment by posting positions, coordinating interviews, communicating with candidates, preparing offer materials, and initiating background checksCoordinate onboarding, including preparing new hire materials, facilitating benefits enrollment, ensuring required documentation is completed, and supporting first-day logisticsAdminister employee benefits by processing enrollments and changes, responding to benefits-related questions, and maintaining benefit records in compliance with applicable regulationsAdminister leave of absence (LOA) programs including coordinating medical, family, and personal leaves, tracking eligibility and documentation, communicating timelines and requirements to employees and managersPartner with Payroll and Finance to maintain accurate HRIS and employee records, including providing updates on promotions, transfers, and terminations for system changesMaintain compliance by keeping employee files audit-ready, tracking required training completion, maintaining I-9 records, and supporting required employment postings and noticesSupport employee relations and training activities by coordinating meetings and preparing documentationMaintain and manage HR documentation, forms, and records across both digital and physical filing systems to support compliance, payroll and employee service needsSupport HR projects and other duties as assignedEducation / Minimum QualificationsAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum of 2 years of HR experience with exposure to multiple HR functions (recruitment, leave of absence, benefits, compliance and basic employee relations)Prior experience with HRIS and applicant tracking systems requiredExperience in a multi-location environment preferredHR certification (SHRM-CP/PHR) is a plusWorking Conditions And Physical DemandsThis position is primarily office-based with regular computer and desk work, including prolonged periods of reading and writingSalary (dependent On Experience)$65,000 - $80,000/annually.
