Responsibilities
Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on academic advising, behavioral health, mental health counseling, and social-emotional learning.
Develop tailored intervention plans to support students facing challenges related to childhood development, behavioral issues, or mental health concerns.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and external specialists such as child protective services or social workers to ensure comprehensive student support.
Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools to identify student needs and monitor progress over time.
Manage conflict resolution and behavior management strategies to foster a positive school climate.
Offer culturally sensitive counseling that respects diverse backgrounds and promotes inclusive practices.
Assist in crisis intervention efforts and provide guidance on child welfare and child protective services procedures.
Advocate for students’ well-being by implementing programs related to childhood development, social skills, and emotional resilience.
Experience
Proven experience working with children or adolescents in educational or behavioral health settings.
Demonstrated expertise in special education needs, conflict management, classroom experience, and behavior management techniques.
Strong background in mental health counseling, social work, or related fields with familiarity in childhood development principles.
Experience conducting individual or group counseling sessions with diverse student populations.
Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and assessment tools used in educational environments.
Familiarity with child protective services protocols, child welfare practices, and cultural diversity counseling is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, families, and external agencies.
