As the Kiln Operator, we need someone to monitor movement of tile through the kiln firing process for the production of the ceramic tile manufacturing process.\n\nShift Schedule: Thursday-Saturday 6am-6pm and Wednesday 12pm-6pm\n\nPrimary Objective:\nMonitors movement of tile through the kiln firing process.\n\nMajor Function and Scope:\nMonitors tile entering and exiting the kiln to ensure process is operating efficiently.\nInspects tile for defects.\nRecords temperature of kiln every hour during shift.\nCollects tile samples for lab.\nMonitors equipment or processes and reports problems to the supervisor\nFollows ISO operating procedures and control plan.\nHelps maintain a team environment by cooperating and communicating with team.\nAbility to maintain a clean work station, conform to all safety and health requirements, and must be able to be at work station at shift change.\nKeeps area safe, clean and organized.\nComplete all required training, including ergonomic, safety, health and environmental.\nIdentify and adjust workstation arrangement, work practices, and workflow to reduce risk factors\nReport issues to supervisor/manager when unable to control risk factor/s.\nReport symptoms of injury/illness and concerns when first noted.\nParticipate in incident investigation.\nOther duties as required.\nExperience and Knowledge Required\nHigh school diploma or equivalent experience.\n\nCompetencies:\nGood oral and written communications skills. Good record keeping skills. Good listening skills. Accurate measurement capability. Ability to understand and speak basic English.\n\nOther Pertinent Job Information:\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. The associate is required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate may be required to sometimes sit, climb or balance. The associate may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position includes close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures. The noise level is usually loud.
