Over time, the position is expected to support additional product lines and strategic engineering initiatives.\nThe ideal candidate combines deep engineering expertise with practical, customer-focused problem solving and can serve as both a technical expert and key customer-facing resource.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nProduct Development & Engineering Leadership\nServe as Hyperion's primary technical authority for electromechanical elevator systems, particularly machine brakes and other safety critical components\nLead brake product development, validation, testing, and commercialization from concept through launch and field followup\nDefine design standards, testing protocols, performance requirements, reliability targets, and engineering change practices\nEvaluate field data, test results, warranty trends, and customer feedback to drive product improvements and corrective actions\nProvide technical guidance on product architecture, component selection,\nmanufacturability, compliance, and future technology investments\nQuality, Reliability & Field Performance\nOwn the engineering response to complex product quality, reliability, and field performance issues\nLead root cause investigations and corrective/preventive actions with Quality,\nManufacturing, Operations, and suppliers\nEstablish and monitor product performance metrics tied to safety, reliability, customer satisfaction, and warranty reduction\nSupport compliance with applicable standards, regulations, certifications, and\ninternal validation requirements\nCustomer, Supplier & Cross-Functional Leadership\nAct as primary technical representative for elevatorrelated customer escalations, field evaluations, validation activities, and performance reviews\nSupport customer site visits, technical presentations, product demonstrations, and product performance communications\nWork with suppliers to evaluate component performance, quality, manufacturability, sourcing options, and cost improvement opportunities\nMentor engineers and influence crossfunctional decisions through technical expertise, datadriven analysis, and practical problem solving\nPartner with Sales, Service, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Customer\nSupport to resolve complex technical challenges.\nJob Requirements:\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline required\nMinimum 12 years progressive engineering experience in product development, design, manufacturing, quality, or related technical roles\nPE license or ability to gain one within 6 months after starting\nDeep experience with electromechanical products; brake systems, safetycritical\ncomponents, elevator/vertical transportation, or industrial machinery strongly preferred\nProven ability to lead product validation, test planning, reliability assessment, field performance analysis, and lifecycle support\nStrong understanding of quality systems, root cause analysis, corrective action, reliability engineering, testing methodologies, and engineering change management\nAbility to translate field data, warranty trends, test results, and customer feedback into design and process improvements\nExperience working directly with customers and suppliers to resolve complex technical and product performance issues\nAbility to develop technical documentation, product performance reports, standards, specifications, and customerfacing communications\nExcellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences\nDemonstrated ability to influence crossfunctional teams without direct management\nauthority\nIdeal Candidate Profile:\nRecognized by peers as a trusted technical expert and engineering advisor\nCombines handson problem solving with longterm strategic thinking\nComfortable serving as a customerfacing technical resource in critical discussions\nTakes ownership of product performance in the field and drives continuous improvement\nBuilds credibility through technical competence, responsiveness, accountability, and\ncollaboration\nBenefits:\nAt Hyperion Solutions, Inc., we understand that our employees are our most valuable asset.
