Heavy Equipment Operators are responsible for providing emergency snow removal services for our clients by conducting ongoing snow and ice removal tasks during all hours of the day and night, in all outdoor weather conditions. This first-responder position is an essential service that makes an incredible impact on the local community by allowing businesses of all types (including hospitals, doctor's offices, grocery stores, and banks) to continue functioning as normal. Let us know the timeframe you are available, whether overnight, early mornings, during the business day, or evenings, we can accommodate whenever it snows! Hours will vary based on the site and amount of snow we receive during the event. Snow events can range between 4 hours to 16 hours + in duration. This position is seasonal and will last from approximately November 18, 2024 – April 30, 2025, depending on weather. Potential for full-time, year-round employment for those interested. It’s OK to have another job. Responsibilities: Operate heavy equipment such as compact or full-size wheel loaders, and skid steers, to smaller tractors and UTVs to clear snow & ice from walks, drives, and parking lots according to the specified contracts and safety regulations. Maintain a clean and safe job site, while ensuring the current landscape and property are not damaged in the efforts to remove snow Maintain and care for company-provided equipment, tools, and vehicles Attend training classes and seminars as requested by management Requirements Knowledge of proper use of snow removal equipment such as skid steers, tractors, and compact and full-size wheel loaders. Provide your own cold-weather clothing including winter boots, coat, hat, and gloves Maintain a regular, dependable attendance record Availability to work variable hours which may include weekends, holidays, and overtime Legal authorization to work in the United States 18 years of age or older Reliable transportation to the location during night or day shifts. Valid driver's license Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds Able to pass a pre-employment drug test Desired, but not required: Minimum 2 years of operating experience in skid loader, compact or larger wheel loader, or tractor.
