{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"e6d8ef9bfa3e5c7ade07ff79","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/e6d8ef9bfa3e5c7ade07ff79","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/e6d8ef9bfa3e5c7ade07ff79","title":"Database Administrator (PostgreSQL)","description":"Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid)\r\nType: Full-Time\r\nPay: $120,000 - $130,000 per year\r\nThe Role\r\nAs a Senior PostgreSQL Database Administrator with our team you will work closely with our Development and Site Reliability Teams to build new features, monitor and ensure performance, advise on schema refactoring efforts, provide developers with support, and assist in best practices for database design.\r\nResponsibilities\r\nEnsure Database Health, Uptime, and Performance\r\nUtilize consistent and robust monitoring tools to ensure high availability\r\nConduct performance baselines and continually audit for schema improvements\r\nTroubleshoot any performance anomalies and respond to high priority issues\r\nAssist in Development Operations\r\nParticipate in code reviews to ensure new features utilize a robust and scalable schema\r\nTrain and advise the development team on best practices, indexes, query plans, etc.\r\nTake an active role in continuous performance tuning initiatives (queries, indexes, and configuration parameters)\r\nPerform Tasks and Own Assigned Database Projects\r\nComplete daily work such as query optimization, schema change reviews, and writing scripts\r\nEnsure daily jobs run on multiple servers across multiple environments\r\nDevelop and maintain documentation related to database systems and procedures\r\nAssure High Security\r\nEnsure sensitive information is properly categorized, stored, and transferred\r\nReview and install the latest security patches\r\nExperience\r\nExperience with database High Availability Disaster Recovery (HADR), backup strategies, and disaster recovery approaches\r\nKnowledge of best practices in database design and performance optimization query plans, T-SQL, and monitoring tools\r\nExperience with cloud-based SaaS solutions, specifically utilizing AWS technologies\r\nUnderstanding of ORM concepts and applying database object changes through code migrations\r\nUnderstanding of Agile development processes\r\nStrong critical thinking and problem solving skills\r\nExperience communicating cross functionally with software development teams\r\nRequired\r\n5+ years of experience with PostgreSQL;
