Staff Physician - OBGYN
JOB DUTIES
Manages and maintains a program of comprehensive health for patients including preventative medicine and acute chronic conditions.
Prepares and reviews medical histories and obtains data through interviews.
Examines patients, formulates diagnostic plans, and orders required diagnostic testing.
Interprets examination findings and rest results and implements treatment plans.
Prescribes and addresses effectiveness of pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate for patient medical conditions.
Determines need for consultation and assists in medical care and treatment provided at the direction of other specialists.
Participate in other care procedures according to training and demonstrated ability.
Provide supportive and definitive care to patients.
Manages primary care services.
Actively participates in patient care by supervising assigned medical staff, nurses and other medical technicians as needed.
Attends and actively participates in departmental meetings.
Determines needs for and advises on the type and quality of necessary medical supplies and equipment if applicable.
Care management of high‑risk patients to reduce risk, decrease hospital and ER utilization, and improve outcomes.
Maintenance of a care management registry for documentation of high‑risk patients, care management interventions and care plan.
Timely and ongoing communication with the healthcare team to identify high risk patients and to maximize the management of patient needs and related risk reduction.
Demonstrates effective use of verbal, non‑verbal, and written skills to ensure communication with patients is culturally and linguistically appropriate.
OBGYN
Interviews patients, obtains medical history, updates all information in EHR according to standards.
Provides patient medication information for all new prescriptions according to standards.
Provide comprehensive medical care to women across the lifespan, including adolescents, adults, and seniors.
Diagnose, treat, and manage conditions related to female reproductive health.
Perform routine gynecological exams (Pap smears, pelvic exams, breast exams).
Provide prenatal, intrapartum (labor & delivery), and postpartum care.
Manage both low‑risk and high‐risk pregnancies.
Counsel patients on reproductive health, contraception, family planning, and sexual health.
Perform obstetric procedures.
Educate patients on preventive care, healthy lifestyle choices, and disease risk reduction.
Provide guidance on breastfeeding, newborn care, and maternal mental health.
Stay current with advancements in women’s health through continuing medical education.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and peer reviews.
Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care to patients, including preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic services.
Manage pregnancy from preconception counseling through prenatal care, labor and delivery, and postpartum follow‑up.
Conduct gynecological exams, screenings, and wellness visits.
Diagnose and treat reproductive system disorders, menstrual conditions, infertility, and menopause‑related issues.
Provide contraceptive counseling and family planning services.
Counsel patients on reproductive health, sexual wellness, and preventive care.
Educate patients and families on newborn care, breastfeeding, and maternal health.
Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
Stay current with continuing medical education, licensing, and board certification requirements.
Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with healthcare colleagues.
Perform other duties as required or assigned, within the scope of duties enumerated throughout.
QUALIFICATIONS
Educational Requirements
M.D. or D.O. from an accredited Medical School, Board Certified
Completion of a Residency Program in specialty
Current and valid Illinois license as a physician and surgeon
Current and valid DEA (Federal)
Controlled Substance Registration Certificate (State of Illinois)
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
4+ years of practicing medicine in a clinic, hospital, or private practice preferred.
Adept at diagnosing problems and creating treatment plans for patients.
Excels in communicating sensitive or adverse information.
Sound judgment and expert decision‑making abilities.
Analytical thinker and complex problem solver.
Working knowledge of FH clinical specific EMR - EPIC.
Technological competency skills are mandatory.
Flexibility with managing multiple projects.
Attention to detail and a dedication to accuracy.
Ability to handle confidential information in a professional & discrete manner.
Ability to communicate with patients, family, physicians professionally.

Communicate clearly with patients.
Work to develop and initiate support process for patients to assist with navigating through emotionally intense experiences (birth, miscarriage, complications).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands include standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 15 pounds. Precise hand coordination and ability to assist with patient movement and support are required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The unavoidable, externally imposed conditions under which the work must be performed, including frequency and duration of physical demands, environmental conditions, and emotional and mental demands.
Exposure to bodily fluids and infectious diseases, including risk for exposure to TB.
Requires annual recommended TB testing.
