Staff AccountantCalling all Staff Accountants!! Our client, a well-established nonprofit organization located in the Durham, NC area, needs a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to work on a temporary-to-hire basis. The role is yours once you get started-you simply begin as a temporary employee of Beacon Hill to help expedite the hiring process.While working as the Staff Accountant, you will work alongside a team helping to assist the Controller with responsibilities including:Bank and general ledger account reconciliationsPreparing and posting journal entriesAssisting with month-end and year-end close processesMaintaining fixed asset records and depreciation schedulesSupporting grant accounting and restricted fund trackingAssisting with audit preparation and financial reportingPerforming account analyses and researching variancesVarious related duties and projects as neededThis is an incredible opportunity with a mission-driven organization that offers a collaborative culture and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community. The accounting team is highly supportive and provides excellent exposure to nonprofit accounting, financial reporting, and compliance. This is an in-office position; however, the daily schedule offers some flexibility.To be considered for this specific position, you would need to have:3+ years of accounting experienceA BS/BA in Accounting (Finance degrees considered with a strong accounting background)Nonprofit accounting experience is preferred but not requiredExperience with general ledger reconciliations and month-end close activitiesERP or accounting software experienceIntermediate Microsoft Excel skillsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsExcellent written and verbal communication abilitiesPlease apply!
