This is a foundational Controller role and an opportunity to build the accounting function rather than inherit an established infrastructure.Position:Controller\r\nLocation:San Francisco, CA | Remote – U.S. Time Zones\r\nCompensation:$200K–$250K Base + Equity\r\nCompany Stage:Series BTravel expectations:6 weeks per year for company off-sites, onboarding, and key business initiatives.Must Haves:\r\nCPA or equivalent technical accounting rigor\r\n6 to10 years of accounting experience, including 3 to5 years in a senior accounting leadership\r\nWorked in a high-growth, multi-location, transactional, marketplace, payments, property, or operationally complex business.\r\nStrong GAAP, revenue recognition, reconciliations, and month-end close experience.\r\nHands-on cash-to-accrual conversion experience.\r\nProven ability to rebuild a chart of accounts and source-to-general ledger mapping.\r\nComfortable remaining hands-on while managing a small accounting team.\r\nLed an ERP implementation or migration.\r\nFirst audit / audit-readiness experience.\r\nNice-to-Haves:\r\nBig Four or top regional accounting background + startup operating experience\r\nIndirect tax / sales tax experience across multiple jurisdictions\r\nPayment processor / marketplace money movement experience\r\nAccounting automation and data systems experienceThe Opportunity:\r\nThis is not a traditional maintenance Controller position.
