The Solution Engineer will be responsible for providing valuable insight into network design and shipment and route optimization for our customers. The Solution Engineer will design and build models to solve complex optimization problems. The position will also provide analytical support carrier sourcing activities.\n\nEssential Functions:\nAble to lead all aspects of supply chain and transportation solutions for clients including demonstrations, implementation, hands-on execution of configuration, testing and deployment support.\nSubject matter expert (SME) for supply chain optimization.\nProvide subject matter expertise to support business requirement definition, process design, and implementation of processes. Document and maintain functional requirements\nResearch and analyze best transportation practices for existing and future clients.\nDevelop an understanding of customer processes to enhance cross-functional initiatives and effectively communicate/integrate solution improvements.\nDevelop and identify cost savings initiatives and manage projects through implementation.\nDevelop and quantify value propositions by identifying opportunities through rigorous data collection and analysis.\nCommunicate and collaborate project activities to key stakeholders both internally and with clients\nResearch root cause of issues, recommend improvements in existing processes and implement action plans\nMonitor industry trends and competitive intelligence to ensure AFS provides timely adjustments on service offerings and pricing positions.\nEstablish and execute a standard approach for responding to request for proposals (RFPs) in support of a specific client or prospect.\nAnalytically fluent in pricing and cost data, capable of independently performing quantitative analysis to support client-facing recommendations.\n\nQualification/Requirements:\nBachelor’s or advanced degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or other technical and/or analytical field\n2 years of experience in key functional areas: supply chain management, logistics, decision support systems/technology, transportation management, distribution, or procurement functional responsibilities\nAdvanced Excel proficiency and basic SQL or equivalent data querying capabilities.\nExperience in data mining and generating simulations to identify and scope opportunities within the customer’s supply chain.\nExperience with various data modeling and network optimization platforms\nExperience in multiple logistics-related systems and transportation management systems\nExperience collecting and analyzing data for modeling, network optimization and/or transportation redesign purposes\nExperience preparing and delivering presentations\nStrong project management skills\n\nWorking Conditions/Physical Demands:\nThe Solutions Engineer will sit in front of a computer for long hours at a time responding to emails, communicating with carriers, and entering financial data.
