Come grow with us!\nTorch Technologies is seeking a motivated Software Engineer to join our team in developing, testing, and supporting cutting-edge software systems. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across both software development and lab operations, contributing to hands-on integration, testing, and demonstration activities that support our mission-focused research and development environment at Torch’s Soldier Touchpoint Research Center (STRC) in Lawton, OK.\nAs a Software Engineer your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain software applications in support of ongoing programs.\nInstalling and configuring new software releases and system updates.\nSetting up, integrating, and maintaining hardware, support equipment, and peripheral technologies used in laboratory and field experiments.\nAssisting with preparation and execution of demonstrations and stakeholder events.\nSupporting soldier-involved testing, experiments, and evaluation activities.\nSupport lab configuration tasks, including moving equipment and rearranging workspace.\nCollaborate with subcontractors, vendors, and project partners to ensure seamless system integration.\nServe as the primary technical point of contact for coordination of software verification, validation, and quality assurance activities with a remot e QA team, facilitating clear communication, text execution alignment, and timely resolutions.\nSupport occasional shipping and receiving activities between Torch offices, includes packaging, inventory tracking, and coordination of technical equipment transfers.\nRequired Qualifications:\nUS Citizenship\nBachelor’s Degree or higher in Software Engineering , Computer Science, or a closely related discipline from an ABET-accredited program.\n5 years applicable software design engineering experience.\nStrong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, C#, Java).\nExperience with software development best practices, version control, and testing methodologies.\nAbility to work hands-on with hardware and software systems in a lab environment.\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills.\nMust be able to lift 50 pounds.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience supporting lab environments, testing facilities, simulations, or system integration.\nFamiliarity with DevOps pipelines, configuration management, or automated testing frameworks.\nExperience working with defense, aerospace, or government R&D programs (or high-assurance software domains).\nExposure to QA processes and documentation standards.\nWork Environment:\nThis role involves both office and lab settings, with occasional physical activity required to support system setup and reconfiguration. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
