Future classes will be available to the right candidate.\nCourse Day/Time: Mondays & Wednesdays or Tuesdays & Thursdays, 7PM - 10PM ET\nWHAT YOU WILL DO:\nLive Online instructor\nDescribe the role of the Certified Medical Billing Specialist\nDescribe the origin of medical language.\nAnalyze the component parts of a medical term.\nList and define basic prefixes, suffixes, and combining forms.\nUse basic prefixes, suffixes, and combining forms to build medical terms.\nExplain common rules for proper medical term formation, pronunciation, and spelling.\nAssess the responsibilities assigned to insurance billing and coding specialists and electronic claims processors.\nDescribe the health care delivery system.\nExplain the responsibilities of the billing and coding specialist to protect patient rights under HIPAA.\nDemonstrate a basic understanding of the anatomy and physiology of body systems and related medical terminology in order to properly process clean claims.\nUtilize the ICD‐10-CM manual, including V codes, E codes, and the Neoplasm and Hypertension tables.\nDemonstrate a basic understanding of the ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS\nUtilize the CPT manual and the various guidelines.\nDemonstrate diagnostic and procedural coding.\nDescribe basic guidelines for submitting insurance claims.\nExplain the difference between clean, pending, rejected, incomplete, and invalid claims.\nIdentify solutions for denied and rejected paper and electronic claims.\nIdentify when a paper claim can and cannot be used.\nExplain the relationship of transactions and security with electronic data.\nCommunicate (verbally and non‐verbally) effectively and appropriately in the workplace.\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nMinimum 3-5 years teaching experience\nTeaching certification preferred\nMinimum 3 years in related field of study\nBilling and Coding Certification\nMust adhere to weekly class schedule\nWHAT WE OFFER:\nCompetitive Salary\nFlexible, Part-time hours\nFaculty Development\nWHY PROTRAIN?\nFounded in 2004, ProTrain offers quality classroom and online training.
