Our sales team is trained across all of our products to give our customers insights into our entire portfolio.\nDry Etch Process Engineer, Senior\nRole overview\nAs a member of the process engineering team, the Dry Etch Engineer will be responsible for sustaining existing and Diodes and developing new processes in the area of both Wet and Dry Etch in the MACOM wafer fab located in RTP, NC.\nPrerequisite Skills and Experience\n\nSolid hands‑on experience with dry etch processing in a semiconductor manufacturing environment\nWorking knowledge of plasma etch and/or ash (resist strip) tools, including process objectives, hardware fundamentals, and typical failure modes\nFamiliarity with process control concepts and statistical analysis\nAbility to interpret and act on process and tool data to resolve yield, defect, or performance issues\nEffective communication skills, both written and verbal.\nWillingness to work in a cleanroom environment.\nAbility to work constructively with a cross-functional Team of Fab Operations, Quality, Facilities, Equipment Engineering and Technicians.\nAdditional Desirable Skills\n\nFamiliarity with semiconductor process integration requirements, including interactions with lithography, deposition, and clean steps\nExperience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools and methodologies (e.g., control charts, Cp/Cpk analysis, DOE).\nBasic coding or scripting skills (e.g., Python, MATLAB, or R) to support data analysis and SPC automation.\nFamiliarity with data visualization tools (e.g., JMP, Tableau, or Power BI).\nUnderstanding of Design of Experiments (DOE) and root cause analysis techniques (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams).\nImprove Automation, Data collection, and Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) to set up Product and Process checks.\nAbility to provide guidance to non-exempt and exempt personnel.\nExposure to Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principles.\nITAR\nDue to ITAR regulations, only candidates who are U.S. Persons (U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, lawful permanent residents, or individuals granted asylum or refugee status) will be considered for this position.\n\nRSU Eligible\nThis position is eligible to receive restricted stock unit (RSU) awards and cash bonuses, solely at MACOM’s discretion, subject to individual and company performance.\n\nBenefits: This position offers a comprehensive benefits package including but not limited to:\nHealth, dental, and vision insurance.\nEmployer-sponsored 401(k) plan.\nPaid time off.\nProfessional development opportunities.\nEEO\nMACOM is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to a diverse workforce.
