All Cornerstone programs are run in partnership with other community organizations to provide education, recreation, cultural activities, health information and screenings, youth leadership and social services to the neighborhood’s students, their families, and other residents. Activities and services are available after school, evenings and on weekends.\nPosition: Program Director\nReports To: Senior Program Manager\nLocation: Boulevard Cornerstone\nWhat Does a/the Program Director Do:\n\nProvide overall leadership, supervision, and day-to-day management of the Cornerstone program in accordance with DYCD and CAMBA expectations.\nOversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all program components, including youth, adult, senior, and community programming.\nEnsure the program meets contractual goals, performance targets, enrollment benchmarks, attendance expectations, and reporting deadlines.\nSupervise, coach, evaluate, and support Assistant Directors, Program Coordinators, Group Leaders, administrative staff, and other program staff.\nEnsure the program operates in compliance with DYCD regulations, School-Age Child Care (SAC) licensing requirements, CAMBA policies, and all safety protocols.\nDevelop and maintain strong relationships with NYCHA, resident associations, schools, community partners, elected officials, and local stakeholders.\nOversee staff scheduling, site coverage, timekeeping approvals, and daily program operations, including evenings and weekends.\nManage incident response, crisis management, de-escalation, and communication with leadership regarding significant program or facility issues.\nOversee participant recruitment, retention, outreach, and community engagement efforts to ensure strong program participation.\nMonitor program quality through observations, staff meetings, participant feedback, and continuous improvement practices.\nEnsure accurate completion of program documentation, data entry, attendance tracking, incident reports, and monthly/quarterly reports.\nCollaborate with CAMBA leadership and fiscal staff to monitor budgets, purchasing, inventory, and program expenditures.\nCoordinate special events, trips, workshops, performances, showcases, and community initiatives.\nSupport the development of a welcoming, inclusive, safe, and engaging environment for participants, families, staff, and community members.\nAttend required trainings, meetings, community events, and DYCD/CAMBA professional development activities.\nEvening and weekend hours required.\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nWhat are theQualifications for the Position:\nEducation, Licenses and/or Certifications Required:\n\nBachelor’s degree; OR 18 credits completed in education/a related field; OR a certificate in Youth Studies and two years of applicable experience\nOr the following minimum requirements of the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS):\nAssociate’s degree in child development, elementary education, physical education, recreation or a related field AND two years direct experience working with children under the age of 13 years, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity\nNew York State Children’s Program Administrator Credential AND two years direct experienceworking with children 13 years, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity.\nSchool Age Child Care CredentialAND two years direct experience working with children 13 years, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity.\nTwo years of college with 18 credits in child development, elementary education, physical education, recreation or a related field AND two years direct experience working with children 13 years, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity.\n\nMinimum Experiences and Skills Required:\n\nEducation and experience listed above\nTwo years ofsupervisory/managementexperience\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nBilingual in English and any other language\n\nCompensation: -$64,500 annually When salary ranges are listed, the range would represent the low and high end for the applicable position & program.
