While others have become large and impersonal, here at 66 Hardware Ace stores, we've remained small and very personal.\nGeneral Summary\nSmall Engine Technician will inspect, service and repair power equipment. Complete all paperwork associated with service and repair.\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nInclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.\nCustomer Service\nProvide positive representation of store.\nProactively assist customers in solving problems.\nProvide a friendly, outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.\nEnsure all calls and pages are answered promptly, courteously and effectively.\nHandle customer complaints. Work to resolve problems with the customer and have a mutually fair and equitable solution.\nPossess excellent product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and location of products.\nStore Operations\nEnsure a positive, professional and safe work environment for all associates.\nDiscuss equipment issues, maintenance plans, and work performed with customers.\nPerform routine engine maintenance, such as lubricating parts and replacing spark plugs\nTest and inspect engines for malfunctioning parts.\nRepair or replace worn defective, or broken parts.\nReassemble and reinstall components and engines following repairs.\nKeep records of inspections, test results, work performed, and parts used.\nRecord and file all warranties.\nMaintain and order replacement parts as needed.\nPerform all other duties as assigned.\nOther Essential Requirements\nEducation\nHigh School or GED equivalent.\nExperience\nPrevious small engine repair experience. Course completed in Small engine repair.\nPhysical Demands\nSitting and operating chain sharpener.
