This role focuses on solving quality problems at the root, ensuring corrective actions are fully implemented and effective, and reducing repeat issues through strong problem solving and prevention.You will lead investigations into recurring and high-impact quality issues, work closely with plant and engineering teams, and help strengthen how corrective action is executed and sustained across the business.Key ResponsibilitiesCorrective Action OwnershipOwn and drive 8D and corrective action from problem definition through verified closureEnsure root cause, corrective action, and prevention are clearly defined and documentedMaintain discipline around timely and complete closure of corrective actionsInvestigation and Root CauseLead cross-functional investigations into repeat and high-impact quality issuesUse data to distinguish true root cause from symptomsEnsure problem statements and root causes are accurate and supported by dataEffectiveness and PreventionValidate that corrective actions are sustained and prevent recurrenceEstablish clear criteria for verifying effectivenessDrive preventive actions based on trends and repeat failure patternsCross-Functional ExecutionPartner with Plant Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Operations teamsSupport alignment across Freeport and Lanark facilitiesCommunicate progress, risks, and outcomes to stakeholdersData and Trend AnalysisAnalyze warranty, field, and internal defect data to identify patternsHighlight repeat issues and systemic risksSupport reporting and visibility into quality performance and trendsContinuous ImprovementApply structured problem solving and Lean principles to reduce defects and variationFeed lessons learned into PFMEA, APQP, and manufacturing controlsSupport updates to standard work and quality processes based on findingsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field3 to 7 years of experience in quality, manufacturing, or reliability engineeringExperience owning corrective actions from open to verified closureHands-on experience with 8D or structured root cause problem solvingExperience resolving repeat or chronic quality issuesAbility to work cross-functionally and drive actions without direct authorityPreferred:* Experience with warranty, field, or reliability data* Lean or Six Sigma trainingAdditional InformationReports to: Quality ManagerLocation: Freeport, IL with time split between Freeport and Lanark facilitiesThe compensation range identified below are a good faith estimate of the salary expected to be paid as performed from these locations. Actual salaries may vary based on compensable factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, education and training, and other relevant business and organizational factors.
