Our people have helped us stand out as a leading general contractor, which is why\nwe are always looking for new talent-individuals who can bring innovative solutions and thinking to\nevery project.\nWe are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent for our office\nlocated in Carson, California.\nEXPERIENCE: Retail, Restaurant, Tenant Improvement, and Ground Up’s\nSUMMARY: Superintendents are responsible for all field related activity such as jobsite safety, cost,\nquality, and scheduling on one or more projects; depending on scope and scale of the work. They work\nclosely with management staff regarding all aspects of the project and communicate regularly requesting\nsupport and taking direction as necessary to ensure successful project delivery. Our Superintendents also\nhelp maintain our relationships with our Clients, Architects, Consultants and Subcontractors. Daily\nactivities are conducted to promote the company's vision, mission and core values.\nRESPONSIBILITIES: \nAssists business development and marketing efforts as requested to procure work \nMentors and assists project staff. \nAssists the preconstruction efforts by conducting constructability reviews, preliminary schedule\nfeedback, suggestions for value analysis. \nAssist management staff in developing bid scopes, conducting bid and scope analysis, and\nmaking recommendations for contract award. \nCreate, implement, and monitor the site logistics and management plan. \nPlan and coordinate daily work activity, including sequencing and interaction of trades. \nMonitor and maintain the construction schedule and take corrective action as required. \nMonitor subcontractor performance and enforce compliance or take corrective actions. \nMonitor the timely approval of submittals and assist the management team in identifying long\nlead items. \nAssist the management staff when necessary in reviewing shop drawings and submittals. \nExercise primary responsibility for project safety, including site separation and jobsite activity. \nExercise primary responsibility for Jobsite quality control. \nAccurately document the daily progress of the Project. \nConduct and keep a record of weekly progress meetings with the trades. \nMaintain complete and organized records at the site. \nEnsure timesheets and materials are job and cost coded properly. \nEnsure material procurement and delivery in a timely manner. \nReview job costs regularly with management staff. \nMaintain tool inventory and report status as required. \nEnsure the punch list is created, distributed and completed in a timely manner. \nEnsure compliance with all OSHA jobsite requirements. \nUnderstand and utilize the Company Policy and Procedures Manual and Best Practices\nGuidelines including Master Forms Library. \nParticipate in ongoing training efforts. \nEnsure workplace safety including on-site housekeeping. Report issues to project team\nimmediately. \nPerforms other functions as requested of them by management or the client. \nConduct evaluations for all assigned employees on your project. \nEnsure client needs are exceeded throughout the course of the project.\nKNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE: \nEducational and experience requirements includes a 4 yr Construction Management degree or a\nminimum of 7 years extensive construction experience. \nMust have a reliable vehicle and be willing to travel throughout California. \nAdvanced knowledge of various construction disciplines including but not limited to, safety\nregulations, inspections, scheduling, cost control, quality control, construction drawings and\nerosion control. \nAbility to assume responsibility, interface, and effectively communicate with others is a must,\nincluding subcontractors, site employees, and clients. \nAbility to lead and evaluate trade performance is essential. \nDemonstrate enthusiasm for challenges and new initiatives. Have a \"never-say-quit\" attitude and\n\"do whatever it takes\" to complete the project.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS: \nPerformance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary\nstairs, ladders, scaffolding, etc. and negotiate work areas under construction. Specific vision\nabilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the\nability to adjust focus. \nPerforming this job requires use of hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls,\nsit, talk and listen, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.\nWORK ENVIRONMENT: \nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works from the onsite office and\ncan be exposed to site conditions such as: moving mechanical parts; high precarious places;\nfumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.
