Interested individuals are encouraged to submit an application as soon as possible.\nThe Eugene Water & Electric Board (EWEB) is seeking a qualified individual to fill a Utility Support Worker I position in our Support Services Department. Utility Support Workers are an essential part of EWEB: they play an important role in helping EWEB maintain their values of Safety and Reliability by ensuring the safety of workers and the public and doing invaluable work to assist other crews.\nEssential Duties & Tasks Performed\nPerform basic traffic control set-up and traffic control/work zone flagging.\nDelivering equipment, tools, or materials to job sites.\nPerforming minor maintenance and repair on tools and equipment.\nPerforming a variety of construction and maintenance tasks such as brush clearing, cleaning construction sites, hauling and spreading gravel, shoveling, raking, operating electronic locating equipment, and other general labor activities as needed.\nWhat You’ll Bring\nKnowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to flagging, and traffic control.\nWORK SCHEDULE\n40 hours per week, Shift: 4 days on, 3 days off, 10-hour shifts. Occasional unscheduled work to support emergency conditions/contingencies and responses. Call-out work may apply.\n\nCOMPENSATION & BENEFITS\nThe starting salary for this position is commensurate with knowledge, skills, education, and experience as it relates to the position. The wage scale for the Utility Support Worker I is $28.13 to $31.26 per hour.\nEWEB values total worker health both at work and at home, and provides a robust compensation & benefits package – Read more about our benefits.\nThis position is subject to the terms, conditions and benefits of EWEB's collective bargaining agreement with IBEW Local 659.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS\nMinimum Experience: Six months experience working outdoors in all weather conditions, preferably in construction or roadway/traffic control environment.\nEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent\nValid driver license: Yes. Class A CDL, or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.\nProfessional license or registration: Obtain Traffic Control Flagger Certification within 2 weeks of hire.\nPost-offer background check required: Yes\nPost-offer drug test required: Yes\nPost-offer physical / functional test required: Yes\nApprenticeship or other education/training required as a condition of employment, progression or advancement: Obtain a First Aid/CPR card within 12 months of hire.\nPlease Note: Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
