Our commitment to youth development and enrichment is at the core of everything we do, and we are proud to be a partner of the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) and the Department of Health.\nIn addition to supporting all programmatic offerings and completing any tasks deemed necessary by the Program Director, essential duties and responsibilities include:\nPosition Summary:\nIn addition to supporting all programmatic offerings and completing any tasks deemed necessary by the Program Director, essential duties and responsibilities include:\nAdministrative Support, Compliance, & Implementation\nResponsible for supporting the smooth, effective, and successful functioning of the Program at the RiseBoro Youth Center.\nProvides direct support and supervision to Program’s staff and participants.\nRecruits and registers participants and ensures that all enrollment numbers are met.\nAttends required OCFS and DOH/SACC meetings, training, and conferences.\nMeets and documents required 30 hours of SACC training every two years.\nWorks closely with RiseBoro Administration to provide information on any updated OCFS policies, new data, current trends, and program changes.\nEnsures that all DYCD performance targets are met & activities occur in accordance with the DYCD work plan.\nEnsures participant files are completed, regularly updated, and maintained in accordance with DYCD, OCFS and DOH requirements.\nAssists the Program Director in the completion of all required reports.\nAssists the Program Director in preparing/reviewing timesheets on a bi-weekly basis and submitting them to the payroll department for processing.\nYouth Development\nUtilizes principles of positive youth development through use of behavior management and discipline techniques that foster social, emotional, and cognitive growth, and build self-esteem and responsibility in all participants\nBuilds positive relationships with and among participants and acts as a role model.\nProgram Development\nHelps create program schedules and enrolls participants in scheduled activities with deference to choice and performance targets.\nUtilizes formal program feedback to make improvements to program design\nOrganizes and implements special projects.\nAssists in the planning, coordination, and supervision of special events, projects, and field trips.\nEnsures all academic, social, cultural, vocational and recreational components of the program are implemented effectively, efficiently and consistently with curriculum.\nStaffing & Program Supervision\nAssists the Program Director with the hiring and supervision of all program staff.\nAssists Program Director in scheduling and holding regular meetings with staff, partners, and key stakeholders to ensure all services are being delivered in a quality manner at required service levels and support school day learning and overall academic success.\nMaintain required logs and program database(s); ensure they are always updated.\nSupervises and supports program delivery staff around facilitation, health & safety, and principles of youth development.\nEnsures proper staff coverage for scheduled and unscheduled time off.\nFamily Engagement\nMeets with parents and assists with planning and conducting staff and program orientation sessions.\nCoordinates with the Program Director around providing family/caregiver support and resources.\nProgram Procedures and Safety\nComplies and enforces all health and safety guidelines and regulations set forth by the Flatbush Development Corporation, the NYS Department of Health, NYC Department of Health, and the Centers for Disease Control.\nWorks with participants to quickly & appropriately resolve any incidents (medical or behavioral). Communicate with parents as necessary. Informs the Program Director of any issues and provides written statements when necessary.\nEnsures all staff have appropriate training and documentation as outlined in our SACC and NYC DOH license, including Fingerprint / NYS Sex Offender / & State Central Registry (SCR) clearances, Staff Annual Medical Form, Mandated Reporter Training and any other requirement as outlined in our DYCD contract and/or license to operate a school aged program.\nProfessional Development\nParticipates in meetings and workshops that enhance professional skills, as assigned by program director, including a minimum of 15 hours of training per year;\nWorks with program directors, staff developers, and (as applicable) educational specialists to develop professional skills.\nApplies skills and knowledge acquired in those training to improve program quality.\nAssists Program Director in design of a comprehensive professional development curriculum for staff.\nCOMPETENCIES\nMust have a passion for working with youth and be willing to go above and beyond program mandates for the benefit of the children.
