This is a critical leadership role responsible for building, developing, and leading the team that sits at the intersection of engineering and business development. My client is looking for someone who can standardize processes, lead technical pre-sale efforts, and ensure high-quality engineering deliverables that help win new business.About the RoleIf you have a strong background in rotating equipment / gas turbines and have led engineering teams supporting sales, this could be a great fit. This role is responsible for leading and developing the Sales/Applications Engineering Team, including the creation of standard documentation and processes to support the business development function. The team delivers technical solutions that meet customer requirements and align with company standards throughout the pre-sale process. This includes defining and optimizing product scope, schedule, industrial schemes, and cost estimates while ensuring compliance with contractual and internal policies.ResponsibilitiesLead and grow a team of engineers to support business development efforts.Develop processes and specifications to standardize offerings around standard products.Be accountable for the team's quality and timeliness of engineering deliverables, including but not limited to:Mechanical P&IDsManufacturing and installation drawings/documentationElectrical one-line and three-line diagramsWorksheets, schematics, and loop diagramsInterconnect drawings and cable schedulesI/O lists, cause and effect diagramsTurbine control layoutsProvide technical leadership and engineering support to applications engineers during pre-sale, including RFQ responses and cost/engineering budget estimation.Lead the team to provide engineering manpower and schedule estimates in support of sales.Lead the team to develop technical solutions (configuration, performance estimation, economics) as part of the pre-sale process and interface with the commercial team.Support commercial operations with risk assessments.Define and optimize product scope, schedule, industrial schemes, costs, and ensure alignment with contract and internal policies.Lead and perform calculations of plant, system, and equipment performance and efficiency.Develop and document technical specifications and costing elements for contract execution phases.Customize products for specific customer needs.Develop and manage handover meetings after successful sale to the project management team.Perform other related duties as assigned to support operations and business continuity.QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 15 years of experience in power generation, with a focus on rotating equipment / gas turbines.Required SkillsMechanical/Electrical experience with:Gas turbines (GT)HRSG/boilersSwitchyards (HV/MV/LV)TransformersCabling and other BOP equipmentPower generation experience with rotating equipment and installationsProven experience leading a successful team of engineers.
