This entry-level role assists with loading trucks, following lot code and labeling requirements, and ensuring customer orders are prepared accurately and on time. The Shipping Material Handler works under direct supervision and helps maintain shipping accuracy and safety standards while learning CandyCo’s systems and processes.\n\nDuties and responsibilities\nPick, prepare, and stage CandyCo products for outbound shipments following FEFO practices\nAssist with loading trucks\nBuild and wrap pallets to company and customer standards\nProperly label cartons, pallets or other shipping containers meeting CandyCo and customer specifications\nUse CandyCo systems, handheld scanners, ERP/WMS for inventory movement and order completion\nVerify counts and order details against pick lists or other documentation\nMaintain a safe, clean, and organized dock and work area\nCommunicate with the Logistics team to ensure orders meet customer requirements\nPerform clerical duties such as filing shipping records or updating shipping information in databases.\nWorks under close supervision and follows detailed instructions from senior staff or supervisors.\nWork in a team to ensure 98% or greater on-time/in full delivery.\nPerform other duties as assigned to support the shipping team.\n\nQualifications\n1+ years of forklift experience; stand-up forklift experience is a bonus\n6+ months of shipping or warehouse experience\nWorks well under changing deadlines; organized and proactive\nMeets high customer requirements with accuracy and consistency\nPerforms effectively both independently and as part of a team\nComfortable handling\n\nWorking conditions\nMust be able to work any and all shifts as directed.\nMust be able to work overtime as necessary, including holidays and weekends.\nAbility to stand and walk for long periods of time.\nMust be an avid Safety Champion and adhere to all safety programs and procedures.\n\nPhysical requirements\nMust wear non-slip, safety-resistant work shoes.\nParticipation in mandatory pre-shift stretches and exercises.\nProper use of required PPE, including hairnets, beard nets (if needed), and safety gloves.\nMust wear all required PPE when working with equipment or chemicals that require personal protection.\nPhysical ability to: stand, sit at a desk, walk around the facility, lift/carry up to 50 lbs unassisted, reach, kneel, crawl, and twist.\nMust possess the ability to see, hear, and communicate with associates and others using professional etiquette.\n\nDirect reports\nNone\n\nCandyCo is an Equal Opportunity Employer\n\nWe celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive workplace for all employees.
