This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial management, maintaining multistate regulatory and fuel‑tax compliance, enhancing financial systems and processes, and leading the accounting team within a high‑volume, complex operating environment.To learn more, click here: www.smallandsonsoil.com What You’ll Do: Accounting & Financial ReportingManage general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, billing, and inventory accountingLead month‑end and quarter‑end closePrepare GAAP financial statementsOversee fuel and product inventory accountingImprove accounting processes and internal controlsTreasuryMonitor cash flow, banking activity, and debtManage Banking Relationships and financingOversee EFT/ACH dealer paymentsTax ComplianceHandle multistate B&O, fuel, payroll, and excise tax filingsEnsure accurate and timely federal and state tax paymentsCredit & CollectionsReview customer credit applicationsMaintain credit policies and monitor credit riskAudits & ComplianceManage CPA annual review and 1120S preparationOversee lender and insurance auditsResolve accounting, billing, and regulatory compliance issuesSupport financial due diligence for acquisitionsTeam LeadershipSupervise and develop accounting team membersLead onboarding and trainingWhat You’ll Need:Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (preferred)5+ years of corporate accounting leadershipStrong knowledge of general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, billing, and inventory accountingExperience managing month‑end/quarter‑end close and preparing GAAP financial statementsMultistate tax compliance experience (B&O, fuel, payroll, excise)Experience with cash flow management, banking relationships, and financingAbility to manage credit policies, approvals, and collectionsExperience leading external, lender, and insurance auditsAbility to improve financial systems, processes, and controlsStrong analytical, leadership, and communication skillsHighly organized and effective in a high‑volume environment
