We are creative, fast paced, and solve some of the most challenging manufacturing processes using automation.\nDAC is seeking an experienced controls engineer to join our team in Leander TX. We offer an exciting hands on work environment with a large potential for lateral and vertical movement within the company. This role entails a broad spectrum of challenges spread across the entire electrical & controls aspect of an industrial robotic automation system. The main focus of this position will be in programming and testing the automated robotic systems. Other opportunities include specifying components, offline simulation & code creation, electrical schematics, and supporting existing systems.\nThe ideal candidate will be eager, able to independently handle multiple responsibilities across many projects, and ready to hit the ground running.\nKey Responsibilities\nImplement, develop, and debug software on automation systems. This includes PLC, robot, HMI, machine vision, and motion control.\nIdentify controls strategies that facilitate streamlined implementation and operation of the final system.\nWork with the mechanical team to provide input on how to solve complex challenges throughout the development of a system.\nWork with end users to support existing equipment.\nPerform onsite commissioning, startup, and verification of controls as well end-user training as needed. 10-15% travel required, with more available if the candidate is interested.\nKnowledge And Experience\nAssociate degree or at least 4 years experience in a related field.\nAn understanding of electronics and controls systems. This includes power disconnects, circuit protection, motor controls, sensors, PLCs, measurement sensors, etc.\nAbility to understand electrical schematics.\nStrong “hands-on” capability in the setup and implementation of controls systems.\nExperience with programming and debugging Allen Bradley PLCs.
