Cinematographer/Photographer
Overview:
6th Sense Outdoors is seeking a Photographer/Cinematographer who wants to be a valuable part of a fast-growing team in the outdoors industry. We are a family-owned outdoors company started in 2008 with multiple well-known brands in fishing, hunting, and outdoor apparel including 6th Sense Fishing, Waterland Sunglasses, and more. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and possess a strong work ethic, effective communications skills, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced, expanding company. Someone who is a quick-thinking visual storyteller that can handle making videos of all shapes and sizes, from producing commercial videos for a national audience to grabbing quick clips on your phone to help support a social media campaign. A strong interest in the outdoors (hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, etc.) is required. Versatility is essential. You also have an impeccable eye for still photography, with extensive experience in lifestyle and product photography. You are self-motivated with a knack for creative problem-solving. You aren’t easily scared by tight deadlines, and you have experience balancing multiple projects and tasks. You enjoy working and brainstorming with creative team, but also know how to knock out an assignment single-handedly.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Create engaging video content and still photography for any and all content needs
Assist in the creation of digital marketing campaigns in collaboration with our Marketing Team
Understand our brand, vision, mission, and most importantly our products in relation to creating video/photography content
Create compelling video shorts for platforms like Facebook
Make eye-catching videos that tell the story and purpose of a product in an authentic and motivating way
Develop, write, storyboard, direct, and edit commercial spots for TV, Web, and Social
Edit and retouch videos with quick turnarounds
Provide innovative/eye-catching lifestyle and product photography for website, social media and print
Photograph products in various settings (indoor and outdoor) using natural and controlled lighting
Prepare and style a set for products and fashion shoots.
Take posed and candid photos of models in various poses and locations.
Select the best images to be used for the shoot.
Edit and retouch photos to create the desired look.
Liaise with clients, models, and other personnel involved in the shoot.
Maintain and update equipment to ensure the quality of photos.
Keep up to date with current trends in product and fashion photography.
Participate in brainstorming sessions and have creative input
Comply with company policies and procedures
All other duties as assigned by manager
SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in multimedia, film, or communications with five or more years of video production/photography (full-time filming and/or editing) experience with a proven and demonstrable work experience as a Video Content Specialist with a portfolio that demonstrates hands on experience in key areas of video creation
Video or reel portfolio
2D Animation, Graphic Design or After Effects
Strong familiarity with camera technologies (cinema cameras, DSLR, mirrorless)
Must be able to create, produce, direct, edit, and manage media content with tight deadlines.
Work independently and/or with a team to deliver quick-turnaround projects
Ability to shift gears with ease between a wide range of projects
Strong technical proficiency in digital photography and lighting equipment
Creative vision and expertise in manipulating light, exposure, color, and composition
Knowledge of visual trends in outdoor fashion and product photography
Excellent interpersonal skills to work with clients and models
Ability to direct models and capture expressive poses
Proficiency in post-production software for photo editing
Ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines
Attention to detail and a keen eye for styling
An understanding of the outdoors fashion and product industry and its target markets
Professionalism and excellent communication skills
May require travel

Pay: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
