The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all functions of the HR department including but not limited to, implementation of all company policies and procedures including hiring onboarding process, termination, disciplinary actions, and all other duties that fall within the human resources categories.\nResponsibilities\nRecruits, pre-screens and interviews all candidates for non-exempt and exempt positions.\nCommunicates with managers regarding employee turnover (i.e. hiring, transferring, terminating).\nMaintains applicant tracking logs for EEO/AA purposes.\nProvides and conducts new hire('s) with orientation requirements prior to starting work.\nPrepares new employee files (i.e. personnel file, medical file, training file, etc.). Identify the requirements by department i.e. job descriptions, department training etc.\nDiscuss HR related scenarios with managers prior to terminating employee. Ensure that all documents are accurate to minimize company liability. Request final approval from upper management.\nProcess all termination paperwork.\nAssist management with employee transfers, promotions, and proper headcount per department.\nPlan, organize and /or facilitate employee training meetings for the workforces, including HR, Wellness and Safety related programs.\nMaintain proper monthly training files accurately and up to date.\nAbility to guide Managers, Supervisors and Leads on how to direct or coach department personnel.\nCreate performance evaluations that are both positive and progressive in nature. While also having the ability to generate effective disciplinary corrective actions.\nAssist in investigating, responding and settling employee grievances of moderate complexity.\nCompletes all required paperwork in a timely matter for the Employment Development Department.\nAssist with upper management with various research projects and/or special projects.\nMust have complete knowledge and understanding of California laws, regulations and recordkeeping.\nThorough knowledge of principles, techniques and practices are fundamental to Human Resource personnel. In addition, knowledge of state and federal regulations.\nMust be computer literate and can learn. In addition, be very proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nProper writing skill sets, having proper punctuation, spelling and grammatical abilities.\nMust possess a meticulous nature with strong attention to details.\nPrioritizes and plans work activities, using time efficiently and develops realistic actions plans.\nAdapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to contend with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.\nAbility to handle multiple priorities simultaneously without losing efficiency.\nStrong interpersonal skills are essential.\nAbility to prioritize and effectively organize work.\nAdministration of benefits (timely processing of enrollments, status changes and terminations).\nProcesses and manages all individual Renewals/Changes.\nMaintains Benefit Paperwork/Enrollments/Changes.\nOversees the annual open enrollment meetings.\nAssists with employee insurance questions and claims.\nEnsures that Insurance/Benefit Letter has been processed at the time of termination.\nCompletes all required paperwork at the time of the accident.\nCreates job descriptions for employees who have permanent restrictions.\nDocuments human resource activities by completing proper forms within a timely manner (e.g. return to work program, reports, logs, and records).\nKeeps consistent contact with injured employees to assure that they are satisfied with their treatment and recovering satisfactorily.\nMaintains proper monthly training files and employee training matrix accurately and up to date.\nActively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures.\nReduce risk and increase safety awareness by implementing and managing all safety process and procedures throughout all departments within the facility.\nUnderstand and complete all CAL/OSHA logs (Form 300,300A, and 301) according to standards.\nReview company current human resources policies and procedures, guidelines, posting and benefits. Also, review current standard operating procedures (sop) and develop if/as needed.\nAudit, recommend, and implement corrections and changes needed to ensure compliance of all human resource files and records: USCIS 1-9, BSIS, HIPAA.
