The Plant Support Engineer will proactively identify opportunities to predict, prevent, and reduce equipment failures to improve reliability and performance.\n\nThe position supports capital projects, including developing and preparing capital requests. Reports directly to Plant Manager.\n\nPosition Qualifications\n\nBS degree in Engineering (civil, mechanical, or chemical)\n\n1‑2 years experience in a petrochemical environment recommended.\n\nExperience with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Access recommended.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nKeep safe work habits as highest priority.\n\nMaintain clean and organized workspace.\n\nStrive to develop good working relationships with all co‑workers, customers and associates.\n\nExemplify high moral and ethical standards.\n\nMonitor and improve maintenance work orders to decrease failures and increase efficiency.\n\nProvide technical/engineering support to Maintenance Dept and coordinate multi‑discipline work.\n\nSchedule non‑routine maintenance work including inspections, turnarounds and emergency shutdowns.\n\nMaintain files for plant equipment containing repair summaries, purchasing documentation, and costs.\n\nDevelop and maintain preventive maintenance system within CMMS.\n\nDevelop and maintain predictive maintenance program.\n\nParticipate in Management of Change (MOC) process.\n\nManage Piping Alteration and Repair Program.\n\nDevelop completed project design specifications from basic ideas.\n\nOrganize, prepare and conduct project reviews with key personnel to develop details.\n\nMonitor progress of assigned projects to verify schedule and budget requirements.\n\nReview project details and equipment with Maintenance personnel to address maintenance interests.\n\nPrepare detailed project estimates and cost justifications for project approvals.\n\nImplement project schedules as needed for efficient completion.\n\nManage assigned projects from approval through completion.\n\nSecure and coordinate contract consulting, engineering and design services for supplemental design assistance.\n\nSpecify and procure parts and equipment as needed and verify compatibility.\n\nCreate bid specifications and perform bid evaluations.\n\nDocument all phases of project design, construction and installation to verify compliance.\n\nInitiate, participate in, and ensure completion of Management of Change Procedure for project related activities.\n\nEnsure startup spares are secured for project related equipment prior to startup and recommend spare parts for life of equipment.\n\nEnsure equipment files are created and maintained for project related equipment.\n\nEnsure drawings are updated as needed for assigned projects (plot plans, area classification, P&ID's).\n\nAct as liaison between maintenance, contractors and operations during project execution and engineering support issues.\n\nOther duties as defined by Plant Manager.\n\nWhy Ergon Inc.?\nAt Ergon, we are a relationship‑driven, family‑owned company that values each employee’s growth and contributions.
