NO SPONSORSHIP OR VENDORS.MUST BE LOCAL TO ATLANTA, GAOur client is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to take ownership of modernizing and evolving their data pipeline architecture. This role is central to a large-scale transformation initiative, focused on migrating legacy ETL processes from Redshift stored procedures and SSIS packages into scalable, cloud-native solutions using AWS Glue and S3. You'll work within a collaborative, cross-functional engineering environment and play a key role in shaping how data flows across the platform.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement modern ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS Glue, S3, and related AWS services to replace legacy systemsArchitect data transformation workflows that are scalable, testable, version-controlled, and observableOptimize and maintain Redshift data warehouse performance, including query tuning, materialized views, and cost managementCollaborate with product, analytics, and engineering teams to build data models that support reporting, AI/ML initiatives, and customer-facing applicationsEstablish and promote best practices, standards, and reusable patterns for data pipeline developmentSupport production data systems, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident responseRequired Qualifications5+ years of hands-on experience in data engineeringStrong expertise with AWS Glue (PySpark/Python), Amazon S3, and Amazon RedshiftProven experience migrating ETL workloads from legacy platforms (e.g., SSIS, stored procedures) to modern cloud-native architecturesAdvanced SQL skills, particularly within columnar or MPP databases like RedshiftExperience with data pipeline orchestration, monitoring, and error-handling frameworksFamiliarity with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD practices for data engineering workflowsPreferred QualificationsExperience working with Aurora MySQL or other relational databasesExposure to real-time or streaming data technologies (e.g., Kinesis, Kafka, MQTT)Background working with IoT, metering, or utility-related dataFamiliarity with tools such as dbt, Apache Airflow, or AWS Step FunctionsWhy Join Our ClientMake a meaningful impact by contributing to solutions that support critical water infrastructureLead greenfield modernization efforts with strong executive and organizational backingWork within a modern, AWS-native technology stack with opportunities to influence architecture decisionsCollaborate with a dynamic and innovative engineering organization spanning multiple development teamsAbout SOLTECHSOLTECH is a leading national technology company based in Atlanta, driven by a steadfast commitment to integrity, strong company values, and customer centricity.
