Medical Assistant /Phlebotomist-Douglasville

The Phlebotomist will be responsible for drawing blood from patients, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and ensuring accurate and timely collection of samples. The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail and excellent patient communication skills. Prior experience as a Phlebotomist is preferred.Key Responsibilities:Greet and welcome patientsVerify patients' medical historiesPreparing patients before drawing bloodExplaining blood draw procedures to patients and answering any questions about the processFollowing all health and safety protocols and procedures to maintain sanitary work areasIdentifying the best needle sized and location for each blood drawEnsuring the correct use of collection tubes and containers for the requested lab workProficient in blood sampling techniques and proceduresGathering medical testing materials, including needles, sample vials, blood storage bags and test tubesVerifying patient information and labeling blood samples properlyAccurately updating patient information in the organization's databaseHelping nervous or frightened patients remain calm during blood drawsWorking with supervising Physicians and always following their directionsAnalyzing blood specimens using the correct testing equipment, when necessaryCleaning, maintaining, and calibrating laboratory equipment used in the drawing and testing of blood specimensRestocking the lab and ordering suppliesPerform routine in office test including but not limited to Glucose testing, Strep and Flu test, Urinalysis, EKG, TB Skin test, Remote patient monitoring setup, ect.RequirementsMinimum 1 year of work experience in a medical facilityPhlebotomist certification preferredKnowledge of OSHA standards and medical laws and ethicsExcellent dexterity and able to remain focused at all timesDetail-oriented and strong organizational skillsExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenStrong interpersonal skillsBenefitsFull time (36-40 hour week)Pay is negotiable
