Working closely with geologists, environmental engineers, and regulatory stakeholders, you will develop safe, efficient, and sustainable mining plans aligned with corporate strategy.\nThis is a full-time, in-office position based in the Grand Junction area of Northwestern Colorado, with occasional travel. The area boasts excellent healthcare, school systems, strong community infrastructure, and convenient regional airports with direct flights to major cities.\nKey Responsibilities\nMining Engineering and Project Management\nConduct geological surveys, assessments, and feasibility studies to identify and evaluate potential mineral deposits, including estimates of resource quantity and quality.\nSupport development planning, and operational strategies to support efficient, safe, and sustainable resource extraction.\nSupport mining projects from initiation to completion, including project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and allocation of personnel and equipment.\nMonitor project execution, track expenditures, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure delivery on time and within budget.\nEnsure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and environmental regulations, safety protocols, and permitting requirements.\nCommunication and Stakeholder Management\nCollaborate closely with cross-functional teams, engineering staff, contractors, and consultants to align project objectives and deliverables.\nCoordinate with regulatory agencies, landowners, and external partners to maintain project transparency and regulatory compliance.\nDevelop and present clear, concise technical reports, proposals, and presentations for internal leadership, investors, and regulatory bodies.\nSupport internal communications by generating project updates, data summaries, and decision-support materials.\nAdministrative and Regulatory Compliance\nMaintain organized project documentation, records, and archives according to company procedures and regulatory retention schedules.\nPrepare and submit all required environmental assessments, compliance documentation, permit applications, and operational reports.\nSupport administrative tasks such as resource scheduling, document filing, and internal reporting to ensure smooth operational execution.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in mining engineering or a related discipline (e.g., Geological or Civil Engineering with a mining focus)\nP.E. license (Professional Engineer) or EIT designation/ eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer is preferred\n4+ years of experience in mine planning, modelling and operations.\nExperience supporting mining projects, resource development, or operational improvement initiatives is considered an asset\nExperience with mine planning and modelling software is considered an asset\nKey Competencies\nExperience in underground, open-pit, and surface mining techniques\nAbility to manage priorities and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously\nEffective written and verbal communication skills\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail\nAbility to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams\nEagerness to learn, develop technical expertise, and grow within the organization\nWhat we offer\nThis is a rare opportunity to join a purpose-driven company during a formative stage of growth.
