Position Overview:\n\nS:US is seeking a Program Coordinator for their women's shelter in Manhattan.\n\nThis position is located at West 135 Street New York, NY 10030\n\nSCOPE OF ROLE:\n\nThe Program Coordinator will manage and monitor daily program operations of a mental health shelter based on city, state, and federal regulatory requirements and DHS contractual requirements.\n\nESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nPlans, schedules, organizes, directs, and oversees the provision of all clinical services.\nProvides supervisory oversight and training to the Social Workers, Case Managers and Housing Specialist.\nEnsures the collaboration between Case Managers, Entitlements Specialists, Social Workers and\nHousing Specialist around coordination of services/case management, barriers to services, and community-based referrals for job skills training, education, and employment as well as progression/regression of consumer behavior, mental health, chemical dependency, and any other issues that may present barriers to housing, employment, and job skills training.\nMonitors daily census reports.\nDevelops groups, workshops, and recreational activities that will foster consumer self-sufficiency and self-determination, recovery, relapse prevention, daily living skills, socialization skills, and overall wellness.\nMonitors and oversees the assignment of caseloads, group and activity facilitation, housing and job placements, job skills training placements, and referrals for community based social services.\nMonitors and oversees the results of room/dorm visits/inspections to assess consumer personal hygiene, room cleanliness, and overall, ADL skills.\nResponsible for Incident Management, crisis intervention, and all related documentation.\nMonitors program effectiveness, compliance and consumer outcomes, including but not limited to,productivity standards, reporting to management and funding source/s.\nMonitors the establishment and maintenance of linkages with community-based job skills training and education programs in order to build a referral base for consumers to secure job skills training and education.\nMonitors the establishment and maintenance of linkages with mental health, primary health care, and substance abuse service providers.\nMonitors the establishment of linkages and maintenance of solid working relationships with supportive housing providers, real estate brokers, managing agents, and landlords as a resource for consumers.\nAttend staff meetings, case conferences, training, and management meetings when needed.\nMonitors documentation for quality and timely completion; reviews and monitors the development of all Individual Living Plans and ensure they are updated as needed.\nDevelop plans for follow up with program graduates to monitor status for up to one year with documentation of same.\nProvides direct services as needed and appropriate.\nComplies with and enforces all SUS Employee Policies, Procedures, and Protocols, SUS Corporate Compliance Policies, NYC - DHS and NYS Dept. of Social Services Rules, Regulations, and Statutes.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\n\n Benefits Overview: We offer attractive compensation with comprehensive benefits including: Medical/Dental/Prescription/Vision/Life Insurance; 403(b); Credit Union; FSAs; Short-and-Long-Term Disability; Transportation Plan; Generous Paid Vacations and Holidays’\n\nQualifications:\nMaster’s degree in the human services field is required.\nThree to five years of supervisory experience in a large shelter or residential facility that provides\ncomprehensive social services, housing placement, and job skills training to the homeless, mentally ill, and chemically dependent populations.\nA work schedule that includes some weekend and evening hours will be required.\n\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS\n\nEnglish/Spanish speaking preferred\nSocial Work degree preferred.\nNYS Licensure (LMHC, LMSW, LCSW).
